Put this "drop in cam" in, dropped a valve in under 30 seconds and obliterated my motor. Piston hit it and broke the crank. (CRF250R)

adds a bit more power
Noticeable increase in power thru entire power band. Very happy with the power increase of the cam Adjusted valves at install and needed slight adjustment after cam break in, checked 200 miles later and still within spec.
I was concerned about the elimination of the factory cam's automatic compression release and the only starting of the bike-Electric Starter's ability to start the bike. So far, no problems, It actually starts faster when warm, about same when cold. My old battery was shot and I replaced it with a Lithium Ion.
I got this cam for my 2002 Honda xr100. It increased the top end performance ALOT. I ended up needing to rejet it and put a 105 main from a stock 100 main and it's a bit to big, so a 102 would be good. I also ended up gearing it up, from a 50 tooth rear to a 46 rear, It rips now. This is a awesome performance upgrade for the xr/crf 100! And a good bang for the buck.
What an awesome upgrade for my CRF250X. Made a huge difference in TORCS racing.
JUST SO YOU KNOW! You are not supposed to use the decompression system when you install a hotcam. The hot cam COMPLETELY does away with the stock decompression system and your not suppose to install it on a hotcam. JUST WANTED TO CLEARIFY THAT!
this is great but on a 99 400ex u dont use the stock compression they do away with that on your hotcam why notreal sure but it seam to give a power gain little expensive though
would not purchase or recommend this product . cam does not seem to have the same size hole on the end for the stock decompressor weight (larger hole), as a result decompressor does not work as well as on stock cam. Reps at hot cams were not very helpful and seemed to assenuate that it was my imagination. Cannot tell much difference in power (maybe because of decompressor weight?) Reinstalled stock cam and works fine.
I put this product on my warrior and i noticed a great power gain from gear to gear i would recondmend this product to any one
i put this cam in and it made a new four wheel very noticable power gain and a lot more low to mid range power
Stage 1: single-cam motor. Excellent midrange and top-end power increase. Uses stock valve springs and rockers. *Does not use auto-decompression mechanism.
