Not the same

This oil seal did not fit my 98 cr250 shock. Original oil seal is a press on rubber with metal collar and this updated oil seal is nothing like anything on my shock. Either buy oem oil seal or purchase the rod guide assembly oil seal as a unit, especially if its been out a few times before the inner bushings or wear collar are probably worn as well.

Good basic product

If you can rebuild your own shock, this seal is way better than spending to much on extra OEM parts you dont need. Even during the dryer seasons of the year mud is always part of our rides. This seal hasnt shown any signs of failure. Very happy

How is this an oil seal for the shock?
The rear shock main oil seal is the piston. I've never seen this seal in a rear shock but it says this fits my bikes shock???

The oil seal is not visible from the exterior of an assembled shock. The shock must be disassembled to view and/or replace seal. This would be the correct main seal for the rear shock though.

It's just the oil seal. It works good and last a long time. It's worth buying.

Does the kit have seals for both forks or just one?

this is for the rear shock not your forks and it will only do one shock

What is in the kit?
I take it the kit includes a seal, but what else is in the "kit". I have a 2005 CRF450X and I think I blew a seal and would prefer to replace with something else other than OEM this time. Thanks.

Well, Factory Connection calls it a shock seal "kit" but it really just includes the shock seal itself. If you're looking for better shock or fork seals than the OEM ones that came stock on your bike, then look no further! Factory Connection makes great seals and they have got a huge following with extremely reputable names to back them up.
