These fit pretty well and are comfortable. However, the padding is located a bit too far forward and it doesn't cover the greater trochanter of the femur (that boney bump on the side of your hip). That's a likely spot to get injured when falling on your side. It's too bad the padding doesn't cover that spot.

Very comfortable and good padding. I'll be getting a couple more pairs...
Standard monkey butt protection with added padding on thigh areas in places that your riding pants pads don't cover. Didn't notice the extra padding while riding but did note a little extra sweat in pad area. Something to consider in summer months. Shorts were comfortable from the moment i put them on throughout an 80 mile dual sport ride. Didn't notice them. Thats a good thing. I can't judge durability as I haven't had them long enough.
The fact that these provide coccyx protection (tailbone terminology) is an absolute blessing and make these shorts worth it. The additional cushioning on the thighs is a nice feature as well and for 48 bucks, I am not disappointed. I am wearing these in the dead of Arizona summer though so they can make things a bit hot. However, in comparison to Iraq, they probably aren't all that hot. The protection is worth the swamp @$$ and I believe this would help tremendously during a crash (as opposed to nothing at all)
Perhaps not ideal for bicycling. The padding is good and the fit is very comfortable but the way the hip pads are placed they do interfere a little with the pedal stroke. The pads need a hinge or gap or something so they bend with the rider.
Multiple crashes with minimum thigh and hip damage.
Ive got a season on my pair now , worth every penny. Has a nice padded crotch area that helps prevent monkey butt if you are always on the seat.
