Good but bulky

Perfect for its price, a little bulky in the back, good for minor use.

Always wear protection

Just a touch big on my 10 year old son but we all know they grow up fast. My son told me his confidence is greatly increased when wearing this brace. And his mothers too!! Thanks Motorsports !!!

Great support with a good mobility.

This brace fits great while allowing for maximum mobility. It gives you a great range of motion while providing support where it is needed. stays in place, does not move around while riding. barely even know I'm wearing it while riding.

Budget Minded Neck/Spine Protection

I haven't used this for very long, about 8 rides. Also, I've never used any of the more pricey brands, so I can't compare, but this looks fine, doesn't impede my head movements at all, and is barely noticeable once you're moving. It feels weird attaching it with the stretchy straps under your armpits, but it works, and appears as though it would offer good protection from a neck injury. If it freaks you out, as it does me, to spend $400 on other neck devices, take this route.

Best suited for smaller people

Instant return. I'm 6ft. 190lbs and found this collar to be super restrictive. It has practically no adjustment to make it work with different body types. If you are a scrawny little guy this might do it for you, but fitment will be luck. The two styles of straps it came with seemed to work well and the collar was not uncomfortable to wear. Simple to put on and take off. For me, I couldn't stand on my bike in the garage and look forward with it on. That is with the collar beneath my gear like its supposed to be.

Nice neck support

Pretty nice neck support and really cost effective.
Latching system is reliable and easy to use.
Quality control on the assembly of the product is extremely sloppy.
The glue used to assemble it was coming out of all the seams.
Sits a little high when used with my EVS Revo 5 chest protector.
Overall pretty nice.

Q: Straps?

Are the straps meant for under or over jersey wear?

A: The straps would go over your jersey.

Q: Works with which protector jackets?
1 year 9 months ago
Questions on this have been posted before, but they were quite specific; I'd like to know in general which (types of) protector jackets this neck brace works fine with. Only those that don't have a back protector that doesn't stick out too high? Would it cause issues with popular choices like the Fox Titan Sports jacket or the O'Neal Underdog? I assume it will work fine with all EVS protector jackets?

A: Fitment cannot be guaranteed with all chest protectors. With that said a majority of chest protectors are now being produced with neck brace compatibility.

Q: Straps necessary?

How well will this neck brace work without using the elastic straps to 'hold it down'? Does EVS specify if these straps MUST be used to ensure proper protection?

A: Yes for proper fit the straps are recommended.

A: I would recommend the straps to hold it to your collar, but you don't even notice you're wearing the straps.

Q: Will this collar work/ can I wear it without a chest protector or helmet ?
1 year 11 months ago
I would not be wearing a helmet or chest protector with this collar. I will be wearing it while rock crawling in my Jeep. I am currently recovering from laser neck surgery and I am looking for a collar to wear that provides a little extra support for my neck. All the things this collar provides is what I am looking for. I am not have direct impact from a helmet if I crashed, but sometimes I hit my head on the rollbar while driving over an obstacle, and also in the event I roll. •Minimizes risk of axial compression, hyperflexion, hyperextension and lateral hyperflexion. •Provides amazing range of motion of head •Soft rubberized edges for increased comfort. •Adjustable sizing. •Carbon Fiber Top Cap - Absorbs and disperses energy to the bio-foam and air bladder system. •Integrated Air Bladder Shock Absorbing - Eases the tension on shoulders / spine when faced with direct impact from helmet; deflects and absorbs the impact energy through a deformation that uses energy, while also dispersing energy, thereby evening out the forces across the body naturally. •Adjustable Rear Strut - Offers adjustments of 10 - 12° between pin locations for a more customized fit. •Rear Axial Load Absorber "Tail" - Transfers impact energy across width of shoulders instead of blunt force to spine. •Bio-Foam Liner - Serves as an extra layer of absorption while offering added comfort; removable / washable. •Bi-lateral torso strapping system (X-Strap Harness) - Ensures a safe, secure fit throughout the entire duration of your ride.

A: The braces only prevent the helmet from moving too far in the event of a crash where the head is impacted. Without a helmet it would not provide any neck support.

A: The EVS R4 Pro Race Collar will most likely have issues with the Fox Proframe chest protector. Look into a EVS product designed to work with their brace or a Thor Sentinel XP
