"The Fox Comp 5 boots are great boots that hold up well. I have had these boots for almost 3 years and havnt had any buckles break, tears or frays anywhere. There are however some flaws in the design of the boot. Whenever you take a hit to the ground, or even clip a tree, the bottom buckle likes to come undone. I have noticed that on AlpineStars Tech-3's the buckle is latched on the other side, which is a reason why i am switching to that boot for my next pair. Another complaint is that water likes to find its way inside the boot. Racing GNCC where mud isnt a stranger, it gets quite annoying and feels unpleasant while you ride. My final complaint is the lack of protection on the inside of the boot. When kicking my bike over sometimes the lever shoots back up and bruises my malleolus (inside foot). I wish i had a picture saved, but it would be a dark one, not just a nick.....Dispite that drawback i cant say i broke my foot in the 3 years of owning them. Ive had my fair share of crashes in the boots and have not had any serious injuries. All in all...The comp 5 is a great entry level boot for the price. Good for any trail rider or casual racer."

They do have less amount of protection compared to other boots. In return, they are much more quicker to break in and are a whole heck of a lot more comfortable. The work boot tread on the sole is much better than your typical flat bottom motocross boot. I ride mostly trails and these are by far the best boots Ive had. For the average rider that rides less than a dozen times a year, these are perfect. I ride dirt bikes and four wheelers, and these boots handle both machines perfectly. Dont compare these to $400 boots, because you get what you pay. For less than $200, these are a bargain. I will easily buy these twice over before I puchase $400 boots again. A+"

Fox Racing Wins

Fox Racing started in 1974 as a tiny distribution business for European motocross parts and accessories. By 1976, the company added high-performance suspension and engine components. Founder Geoff Fox decided to show Fox meant business and in 1977 he created Team Moto-X Fox, a privately owned professional motocross team.

The non-factory Fox racing team competed well in the AMA 125cc National Championship Series and proved it could compete against the strong Japanese factory teams. Perhaps just as important to the Fox name, the team's riders made a splash by wearing bright red, yellow and orange race outfits handmade by Fox. The clothing became an instant hit with fans and the phones began ringing at the Fox shop in Campbell, CA with folks interested in buying Fox jackets and race wear.

Seizing on this opportunity, Geoff reorganized Fox to focus on motocross apparel. In 1980, Fox rider Mark Barnett won the company's first National Championship. Two years later, Brad Lackey won Fox's first World Motocross Championship. Over the next 20 years, Fox-sponsored riders won more than 40 National Motocross and Supercross Championships. In 2006, Fox rider Ricky Carmichael won the AMA Supercross Championship, while Lifelong Fox rider James Stewart won the FIM World Supercross Championship.
