Fox Racing Wins

Fox Racing started in 1974 as a tiny distribution business for European motocross parts and accessories. By 1976, the company added high-performance suspension and engine components. Founder Geoff Fox decided to show Fox meant business and in 1977 he created Team Moto-X Fox, a privately owned professional motocross team.

The non-factory Fox racing team competed well in the AMA 125cc National Championship Series and proved it could compete against the strong Japanese factory teams. Perhaps just as important to the Fox name, the team's riders made a splash by wearing bright red, yellow and orange race outfits handmade by Fox. The clothing became an instant hit with fans and the phones began ringing at the Fox shop in Campbell, CA with folks interested in buying Fox jackets and race wear.

Seizing on this opportunity, Geoff reorganized Fox to focus on motocross apparel. In 1980, Fox rider Mark Barnett won the company's first National Championship. Two years later, Brad Lackey won Fox's first World Motocross Championship. Over the next 20 years, Fox-sponsored riders won more than 40 National Motocross and Supercross Championships. In 2006, Fox rider Ricky Carmichael won the AMA Supercross Championship, while Lifelong Fox rider James Stewart won the FIM World Supercross Championship.
