As part of their continued support for off-road racing, MotoSport.com is pleased to announce continued partnership with the 2012 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country off-road racing series Holeshot Awards and all new Go Race Program.

Tualatin, OR (PRWEB) March 16, 2012

As with the 2011 Can-Am GNCC series, MotoSport.com will partner with the 2012 Can-Am GNCC Series and furnish the Holeshot Awards, which riders win by being the fastest out of the gate in each class’ main event. Four MotoSport.com Holeshot Awards are given at each event, making for a total of 52 on the season. Riders who win the Holeshot Award in the XC1 motorcycle and ATV classes will each receive $250, and in the XC2 motorcycle and ATV classes they will pick up $100 each.

The eighth round of the Can-Am GNCC Championship will once again be known as the MotoSport.com Snowshoe GNCC. This event, held June 23rd & 24th 2012 in Snowshoe, West Virginia, is considered by many riders to be one of the series’ most difficult courses, taking place around the scenic Snowshoe Mountain Resort. As with previous races, MotoSport.com will be on-site to provide support for the talented racers taking on the audacious challenge.

New this season is the MotoSport.com Go Race Program, which provides a $20 MotoSport.com gift card to each amateur rider who lines up to race at any Can-Am GNCC event in 2012. Based on last year’s participation the Go Race Program will put more than $150,000 in the hands of amateur racers. Go Race Program gift cards will be emailed to each rider within a month of the event date and can be used on any parts, apparel, or accessories carried by MotoSport.com.

“MotoSport.com is excited to be part of such a well-respected, admired and historic off-road race series,” said Bill Butcher, founder of MotoSport.com and a former racer himself. “Our company has been involved in supporting riders and racers since the very beginning and we are always ready to step forward and demonstrate not only our commitment to the sport, but to celebrate the incredible effort put forth by amateur motorcycle and ATV racers brave enough to take on the GNCC.”

Tim Cotter, Director of the Can-Am GNCC series, stated, “We are excited to continue our relationship with MotoSport.com pertaining to their support of the GNCC. MotoSport.com is a world-class provider of motorcycle parts, accessories and apparel, and they provide an unmatched service for our racers and their families. The $20 gift card, which every rider receives just for starting, puts an exclamation point on MotoSport.com’s commitment to the grass-roots riding community in America.”

About MotoSport.com
MotoSport.com was started by a rider who raced in the 1970’s and 1980’s who was looking for a far more expansive supply of parts and accessories for racers which could be obtained quickly and without the usual hassles and limitations of a dealership.

Every time a purchase is made at MotoSport.com customers have the opportunity to make a $1 donation towards one of three rider advocacy organizations. MotoSport.com matches those donations dollar-for-dollar – up to $40,000 every year – instantly turning $1 into $2 and doubling the donation.

Tualatin, Oregon (PRWEB) April 05, 2012

MotoSport.com has a long and storied past within the motorcycle riding and racing community both through supporting racers and maintaining a large number of series, event, team and rider sponsorships. What may not be as well-known – at least to those who have yet to become MotoSport.com customers – are the numerous ways MotoSport.com helps the community give back to itself.

The sport of motorcycle racing can be a dangerous endeavor, and crashes and injuries are a constant hazard when one competes in such events. MotoSport.com knows this very well; after all, the people who work there ride and race what they sell. It is this first-hand experience and knowledge which has helped to fuel MotoSport.com’s desire to help reduce the impacts of such life-shattering events on riders, racers and their families.

What makes this mission possible are MotoSport.com’s customers; every time someone makes a purchase at MotoSport.com or via the telephone, the purchaser is given the opportunity to make a $1 donation towards one of three helpful organizations whose primary goals are either to take care of a racer who has fallen or prevent injury in the first place. Once the donation is submitted, MotoSport.com matches it dollar-for-dollar – up to $40,000 every year – instantly turning $1 into $2 and thus doubling the amount given. To date, since this program was first put in place in 2008, MotoSport.com has raised in excess of $216,000, all of it helping the people who take two-wheeled sports to their ultimate limits.

The first partner to benefit from this relationship was the rider-created and rider-sponsored RiderDown Foundation. Their admirable work goes to assist directly in the lives of responsible off-road motorcycle and ATV riders who are injured while riding and rendered unable to continue in their normal, daily existence. This help can include everything from assistance with medical bills and support for the rider’s family to personal home visits, regular rehabilitation transportation and beyond. MotoSport.com, together with thousands of their customers, have donated $195,322 to RiderDown to date.

In the arena of injury prevention, Roadracing World’s Action Fund was chosen as another beneficiary of the MotoSport.com racer assistance program. The people at the Action Fund are focused on motorcycle racing safety and education, and they are primarily the leading organization in deploying “air fence.” This soft, air-filled race track barrier cushions a rider should they impact the race track wall. The air fence can be the difference between an accident which one can walk away from and one which requires considerable recovery or permanent physical damage. Over $3,400 has been raised for this critical mission since the relationship began.

The Jimmy Button story led MotoSport.com to support the organization created in his honor, Road 2 Recovery. He was in his tenth year of professional off-road racing at the young age of 26 when a fall paralyzed him from the neck down and ended his career. Road2Recovery was created by Button – and co-founders Bob Moore and Bob Walker – after his experiences and continues to assist in the lives of AMA-licensed professional Motocross and Supercross racers who experience a tragic accident leading to the end of a motorcycle racing career. Over $17,300 has been passed on to Road2Recovery from MotoSport.com and their caring customers.

In the end, it is the generosity of the MotoSport.com customer which makes all of this possible; without the many kind people who make the simple $1 donation, there would be no story about the great work which MotoSport.com accomplishes with RiderDown, the Roadracing World Action Fund and Road 2 Recovery.

Take some time and visit MotoSport.com. Should you make a purchase, check that box and donate $1 to help the motorcycle rider or racer – support those who put life and limb on the line for your entertainment and fuel your passion.

About MotoSport.com
Today, MotoSport has become an industry leader that remains focused on providing our customers with the parts they need when they need them and is one of the fastest growing retailers of power sports apparel, parts and accessories on the Internet today.

Welcome to Round 7 of our HOT or NOT feature from the 2012 Monster Energy Supercross series. We saw lots of new faces with the East Coast Lites starting this week, read below to see who made our HOT list for the weekend and who fell short.

450s

Ryan Villopoto – HOT – Another win for RV and with Reed now injured, this is his title to lose now. All he has to do is keep it on two wheels and he’ll wrap this up before Vegas.

Ryan Dungey – HOT – Damage limitations for Dungey but he’ll need to step it up if he wants to challenge RV. Getting a good start would be a massive step.

Jake Weimer – HOT – After last week’s statement that we’d see a change of attitude, it was good to see him back it up with another podium spot.

Mike Alessi – HOT – Is Mike Alessi becoming good at SX? It might be a little early to suggest that but there is definite improvement from the Suzuki rider.

Josh Hansen – HOT – Before, Hansen was consistently placing top 10s, now he’s doing top 5s and quietly going about having a very impressive season.

James Stewart – NOT – While the crash might not have been his fault, the resignation all over his face at the end showed that his title chances are all but over.

Kevin Windham – NOT – Dropping a bunch of positions at the end of the race always leaves a sour taste but we expect KDub to bounce back.

Brett Metcalfe – NOT – Hard to know where to place Metty but he’s definitely ridden better than he did here at Dallas.

Justin Brayton – NOT – Another factory rider who needs to be a lot higher in the standings. 9th place isn’t what Honda would be looking for, especially with Canard out.

Kyle Chisholm – HOT – A top 10 for Chisholm, and a result that gives him something to build upon as the season settles into the east coast.

250s

Justin Barcia – HOT – He wore the red plate during the race, and he’ll be wearing it Atlanta this weekend. He may not be everyone’s favorite rider but he gets the job done.

Darryn Durham – HOT – Another genius decision by Mitch Payton, seems to have turned a top 10 rider into a race and championship contender.

Ken Roczen – HOT – Hard to know how well he’d come back from the broken bone in his arm but a third place keeps him well in the hunt for the championship.

Blake Wharton – HOT – This race could’ve gone so much better but it was good to see Wharton leading a race and looking back to the rider we all knew he was.

Phil Nicoletti – HOT – I don’t think anyone in the stadium, or in fact anyone who follows SX would’ve picked Nicoletti to finish in fifth place but congrats are definitely due.

Malcolm Stewart – NOT – A silly maneuver cost Stewart the chance of an even better finish and it’s made him an enemy that he’ll run into a lot during the season.

Jake Canada – HOT – Another rider who far exceeded expectations with a top 10. He now needs to repeat it often enough to earn a solid ride.

PJ Larsen – NOT – An 8th place finish is not what Larsen would’ve been hoping for before the race began but he’s not out of the championship by any stretch.

Cole Thompson – HOT – A very solid ride by Thompson who was actually running a lot higher before dropping places near the end. Still, very impressive first race.

Lance Vincent – HOT – Getting a top 10 is a good way to start the series off and certainly gives Vincent something to build upon in the next few rounds.

450 HOT or NOT

—–

Ryan Villopto – HOT – RV was actually close to not making the HOT list. Had the pass from Reed stuck and RV would… Read More

Ahh, the most important day in motocross news has arrived, our HOT or NOT list from San Diego Supercross. Read below who made the list and who got ditched.

450 HOT or NOT

—–

Ryan Villopto – HOT – RV was actually close to not making the HOT list. Had the pass from Reed stuck and RV would have placed 2nd, he was destined for NOT stardom. However, it didn’t and he didn’t. So welcome to the HOT list once again, Mr. Villopoto.

Chad Reed – HOT – When RV got out front we didn’t give Reed much of a shot at reeling him in. Shame on us. Reed was a beast through the whoops and nearly won the race. He’s not 6 pts down in the championship heading into Dallas.

Ryan Dungey – NOT – A podium is solid, however, it’s been a few weeks since we’ve seen RD mix it up with the front-runners. He’s riding consistently, but if he wants a title, he needs to put himself in better position early.

Brett Metcalfe – HOT – It was his best ride of the season and it came at the opportune time for both he and Suzuki.

Josh Hansen – HOT – After a horrible showing at A2, Hanny needed a solid comeback ride. Well, he got it in San Diego with his maiden top five in the SX class. Now let’s see if he can do it again in Dallas.

Justin Brayton – HOT – From a near catastrophic practice crash to a 6th place finish in the main event, Justin Brayton was HOT in every sense of the word in San Diego.

Davi Millsaps – NOT – Sorry, but we still feel as if Millsaps is leaving something on the table. He’s been solid, but a top five would be nice to see.

Kyle Chisholm – Chiz put in his first top 10 of the season in San Diego and is now only eight points behind Hanny for top 10 in the championship. Yes, that is HOT.

Mike Alessi – NOT – Alessi would have earned a HOT based on the fact that he led his heat race (before the red flag) and put in a good top 10 showing in the main event, but when he failed to yield to the lead pack when the blue flag was waved, well, that pretty much killed his chances.

Nick Wey – HOT – Our boy Nick Wey finally showed up in San Diego after an uncharacteristically slow start to the season. Let’s hope he can keep the ball rolling in the right direction in Dallas.

250 HOT or NOT
—–

Dean Wilson – HOT – Back to winning ways on the track, and surprisingly in the championship as well. He now leads by 2 pts with 2 rounds to go.

Cole Seely – HOT – Starting to find a bit of consistency now with two second places in a row. And definitely showing the form that we hoped to see after his A1 victory.

Matt Moss – HOT – The first ever podium for the JDR/J-Star KTM team and Moss’s first American podium as well. You could tell this guy was super-pumped.

Gareth Swanepoel – HOT – After missing mains early on in the year, the South African is starting to find his feet, as he climbs up the championship table.

Nico Izzi - HOT – Another 5th place finish, and one that moves him into 5th place in the championship. We are finally seeing the old Nico Izzi on the race track.

Gavin Faith – HOT – His best points total since filling in for Wil Hahn and one that should show other teams he’s a worthwhile pickup if they need a rider.

Billy Laninovich – HOT – San Diego was the cherry that is sitting on top of the Billy’s SX season cake so far. The harder the whoops, the better Billy does.

Travis Baker – HOT – After his 20th at LA, Travis has gone 6-9-8 and while I’m sure he’d like to be higher, it’s still a good run of form.

Vince Friese – HOT – One top 10 can be seen as a fluke, two top 10s, in a row is the sign of consistency as well as speed and that’s something Friese has often lacked.

Nick Paluzzi – HOT – It hasn’t been a great year for Paluzzi as this was only his second main event, but to place as a top 10 is a good way to try and turn things around.
