" I believe that a good skid plate is one of those must have items for anyone that rides trails, even if only once in a while. I have put mine to the test, on the underside of my bike there are some pretty good size groves and dents from rocks and what ever else hit it. However I did not like the foam peice that came with it, all it did was get realy heavy and soak up mud, so i took it out. "

" I bought this glide plate after my frame suffered a pretty good nick in a moto. I've had it for about a year now on my 09 CRF450R and it has a ton of deep scratches but my frame and case do not. The plate has not bent or twisted in any way either. It fits perfectly, the rear tab lays underneath the frame, and the front even sits between the frame rails underneath. It looks great too. "

" excellent product works really good, easy acess to the oil change screws I have a 2004 RM 125 and it fits perfect extremely easy to install and has held up well not sure if its had to protect my bike from anything yet but if it has its worked well. it was one of the first additions I added to my bike was worth it. If you want to protect your clutch covers and shifters and things you need to get the extended coverage model, this one just protects the bottom of the bike, not sure if they sell it here or not. "

" The skidplate fit wasnt designed good for my 06 yz250. The way the skidplate is bended to fit the bottom of the frame and the mounting tab location isnt ideal. The clutch side closest to the swingarm mounting tab hits the bottom of my case. If I were to move the skidplate forward, the bend and placement of the skid plate doesnt look natural. I ended up taking a grinder and grinded down the corner of the tab so I wont have to worry about the mount rubbing a hole in my case. Other than that, I like the skidplate. "

Don't case it without it
" For the price the WC skid plate is very good product, all WC products seem to be good products. However, The skid plate was hard to get on my 2007 RMZ450 and didn't seem to fit perfectly when putting it on. Once I got the screws in and tighten It fit fine. You may need to trim your guards, I had too. It would have been nice if the foam was 3 to 4 inches longer too. You can always buy extra foam or deal with it which is what I did. For the price I will probably by a WC skid plate for my next bike. "

" Works great for motocross, just wish it was a little wider to protect the frame a little more. Installation was fairly easy with getting the mounts in between the frame and engine the hardest part. After three years of use it has held up very well. Works well when you come up short on jumps, but not so well for trees and rocks. I wish the bolts would come with Allen bolt heads instead of a Phillips head. Overall this is a good buy. "

Yes this fits that bike.. As far as mud goes it does get between the frame and the glide plate but you can buy a foam insert place between the frame and the plate to help limit how much mud gets stuck between the two. It's simple to get out as well, just spray it out.

This glide plate includes the foam insert, if you wanted you can always pick up a spare piece. It's called Helix Skid Plate Foam.

How does it mount, and what does it mount to?

Depending on the type of bike would determine how it mounts. Typically these include brackets that loop on the frame and screw down to the glide plate. Usually bike come with a cheap plastic glide plate, so this would take its place and use some of the mounting screws.

there are brackets that hang off of the frame that the skid plate attatches to, and when the bolts are tightened it clamps to the frame.

This attaches to the frame of the bike, and if you have the bolts and bracket attached securely this should add any vibrations or noise.
