Ride Eng Billet Kill Switch - Main
zoom: +

Product Description

  • Replaces the stock kill switch on all carbureted off-road motorcycles.
  • Replaces the starter switch on electric start models.
  • Will work on Electronic Fuel Injected (EFI) models and as a Launch Control replacement by adding the LED light (sold separately).
  • Replaces and relocates the stock kill switch or starter button to the back of the clutch or brake lever perch making more room on the handlebars for hand guards and other devices.
  • Customers with Renthal Twinwalls will love the extra room on the bars since the Ride Switch eliminates the O.E.M. strap on switches. This leaves much more room to place the clutch lever and brake lever in the exact position the rider desires.
  • Universal fit on all off-road motorcycles and minis that have 30 - 32 mm span between the clamp mounting bolts including all KTMs with Brembo Brakes and Clutch Levers (not Magura).
  • Includes red rubber button, plastic spacer, compression spring and steel contact.
  • Rebuild Kit available separately.

Weak Rubber
I think I rode my bike twice, and noticed the rubber already was ripped. Not on top, but on the side where it goes into the main part. Not too stoked on that. Hoping I can repair it if it gets worse.

Needs Some Improvements
I got this for my 06 WR450F to use as a kill switch and quickly realized that it isn't set up for the OEM hot start located on top of the lever clamp. I decided to use it as a starter switch instead and put a Fly Racing billet kill switch on it. Double check everythig that is mounted to your lever clamps before you buy this thing. Also, the red rubber button cover seems thin. I doubt it lasts very long. The bezel aound the red button makes it impossible to use anything but an open ended box wrench on the bolts.

Too Expensive!
Not worth $50. The rubber button cover is a little thicker than a balloon. Stock or a Moose one is more durable. Mine tore open and the guts fell out. It still works, but poorly. It does look really cool though. . . . . . . .

Cleans Up Controls
I have had this button since October and it's holding up just fine. I originally just got one for the starter button on my WRF and I'm impressed enough now that I'm going to get one for the kill switch. It really cleans up the look of the controls and if you have cut down your handle bars makes fitting everything back on way easier.

Poor Choice
Bought two of these for 250x and 450x. Both went bad after three to four rides. One just stopped working the other the red plastic cover on the button wore out and the guts fell out. Don't waste your money.

I don't believe this would double for a start switch.

On Ride Engineerings web site they have this listed as engine kill/starter switch. So yes it would work for either.

Will this work on a 1983 ATC 250r?

Going back that far, I'm not really sure. These are a universal switch assembly. It would be questionable whether it fits or not.

It will work with any lever assembly provided the two bolt are facing the rider. In the case of the works connection lever that has a plastic sleeve-the sleeve must be cut in half and only used on the side of the clutch, not the side or our switch. It also works with all ktm brembo clutch and brake levers even though they face the sky. Our switch can also be used as a starter switch for KTM, KLX, CRX AND WRF applications. -RIDE ENG.
