A must for a KX250F
Kawasaki vulcanized the grips onto my 2009 KX250F. I found this out the hard way. I spent two hours chipping away the old grip. I thought to myself "there has be an easier way". And there is... throw away the stock throttle tube and use this one with a new grip. Problem solved.

I've had aluminum aftermarket tubes bend in a crash. This plastic piece is stronger than stock and holds up better than any others I've used. Great price too.

Ordered for my YZ250F. Did not match stock length. This tube was about 1/4 inch longer than stock. Had to modify to match well with Scott Diamond grips. Strongly considering going with aluminum tube next time.

You pay for what you get
I bought this throttle tube a few weeks ago and it worked great at first, but my bars are a little marked up from the last tube when sand got in there. Within 2 rides this tube started doing the exact same thing and started breaking down. I'd go with an aluminum tube.

Good for the price
Works fine, pretty durable but not as strong in a big crash as a metal tube.

1981 honda xr250r throttle cable?
I am buying a 1981 honda xr250r and the throttle cable is missing i have been told that this bike came with two throttle cables am just wondering if you know where i could buy them
MotoSport Staff

I took a look and it appears Honda has discontinued the throttle cables for your 1981 Honda XR250R. I also checked with Motion Pro which is aftermarket cable manufacturer. I did not have a listing from them for your bike. It looks like you will need to have a set of cables made. I would recommend starting with Motion Pro, they can be reached at 650-594-9600.

Will this fix my throttle "Snap"?
when i pull my throttle down and then let go it takes for ever for the bike to go back to idle.... and i know my throttle tube is broke, also my bike is a 93 so could it be something else??

It could be the tube, the throttle cable, carb slide, or even the throttle tube housing. It's not safe to ride with a broken throttle, you're risking injury or even blowing your bike up. I'd suggest taking a look at all 4 components of the throttle and replace what's worn.

If the throttle doesn't return to its regular position then you have to lube your throttle cable or clean the throttle tube and where it sits on the bars. If thats not it then its probably something in your carburator.

if your throttle tube is cracked that could definitely be causing that. same thing happened to me
2 years 10 months ago
The throttle tube is definitely the problem.

Does it have end caps that come off?
MotoSport Staff Expert

The end cap on this tube is removable. They lightly glue them in, so with a little pop of a screw driver it's out.
