  • Michelin designed the StarCross MS3 motorcycle tire for soft to intermediate terrain.
  • Michelin StarCross MS3 tires were developed with serious racers in mind, and feature a reversible tread pattern that clearly shows when to reverse the tire on the rim.
  • With mirror image knobs, the Michelin MS3 motorcycle tire provides equal traction in both directions on a wide range of terrain.
  • The Michelin MS3 tire also features an M-block knob pattern with reinforced scoop-like knobs that are widely spaced with staggered shoulder knobs for superb cornering action.
  • Michelin MS3 tires also feature super stiff sidewalls for high-impact shock absorption on impact.
  • The Michelin StarCross MS3 tire has a flexible tread pattern that minimizes rebound on rough tracks and helps keep the tire in contact with the ground.
  • Note: The Michelin StarCross MS3 motorcycle tire is sold individually.

Best tire
This is the best tire i've found for use in MX conditions in Arizona. The track starts out tilled and loamy in morning and gets hard pack in afternoon. I run the MS3 and it works the best for me. I like the reversible tread too, flip em and square edge is back for a few more rides.

Tires
i had actually ordered mh3 we were sent ms3 still a good tire but on a yz250 and hard track started ripping lugs off after one week I would recomend mh3 over the ms3 but if you track conditions are not hard theese would work my son is a very aggressive rider also.

Best mx tire out there
I have tried several intermediate terrain mx tires, including the geomax mx51 and this tire is the best tire I have ever run, HANDS DOWN! It is great in all terrain. It is predictable, wears well, and grips like no other. I have to give the ms3 credit for the many holeshots I've pulled too. Its just a great tire. And lasts alot longer than the mx51.

Big roost
Great tire for the sandy conditions. great straight line acceleration, slides predictably, and throws big roost when you want. Just walls of sand, very fun.

Michelin MH3
Great tire bites good in loose conditions. I go through about 3 to 4 of these a year. Well worth the money if you are looking for traction.

Its a michelin,need i say more
ive read reviews of people saying they change this tire after 8-12 rides, stop wasting your money. this tire hooks up better with 50% tread than other tires do brand new,i live in alabama and the terrain here is so incredibly hard to pick a tire for, imagine 2 inches of sand on top of deep black mud thats full of tree roots and covered in a thick layer of pinestraw(a traction nightmare), and this tire still finds traction enough to bring the front wheel up and slamming into roots on the pipe without chunking,i ride an '09 crf450r,builders series stage 2 hotcam, alot of porting, cosworth 13:1 piston, oversized valves from kibblewhite,a 63 h.p. monster, this is the only tire that can handle it, if you dont buy it,i will send the michelin man to your house to dook on your pets, buy the tire

MS3 OR MH3!!??
I'm ridding the mh3s right now.. I ride a lot of tracks but when i do ride trails i always seem to be missing a lot of rubber chunks out of my tire. If i switched to the ms3 would they not chunk? Our trails are super hard and rocky!
Ive had the same experience with these tires, here in AZ because of rocks and etc. I love the starcross tread because they hook up great but i think the widely spaced knobs make it really easy to chunk out check out the maxxis desert IT for trail and any riding outside of the track they hook up great even at the track and are the best wearing tire i know of

What would happen if i started running a 110?

with my YZ450 07 I went from 110 to 120 and it was hitting my exhaust, (just slightly rubbing against it) you could try and get some spacers to move the exhaust further away. you definitely do get more traction though

I will also add that going with a wider tire will cause the rear end to track differently. Some say they like it, and well, some say they don't.

What does the number 110 mean in the size?
What is the difference in 110 and 100? and will they both fit on 19 inch 250f rims?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
110 represents the width of the tire. Typically a 250 2stroke/ 450 4stroke use a 110 and the 125/250f use a 100. but you can run a 110 on a 125/250f rim, but the tire tracking may be a little different and might take some getting used to.
