Looks and works great
I chose this guard because it is lite weight and durable. The carbon fiber is thick and it looks good.

Nice CF piece
This guard does what it's supposed to do and looks trick, too. It mounted right up to my 08 YZF450 with no coaxing and took about 2 minutes, including removing the old one. It has held up very well for several months through some crashing.

Great product, not necessary
Stock plastic gaurd probably works just fine for most people, people needing more protection would stetp up to an aluminum Works Connection unit. The carbon fiber does look cool, it's light, and it's been on my bike 3 years with no problems at all, so if you buy it, you won't be let down

It fits well on the frame but keep in mind if you are using it with any other carbon fiber type skid plate, one of the two will have to be modified to work together. I cut the top of the skid plate to allow the frame guard to fit.
Overall
Lighter and just as strong as aftermarket aluminum guards. Would recommend to anybody looking to shed a little weight from bike.

Great Product
Fit and finish is great, much stronger than stock plastic jobbie. get one and protect your expensive engine! alot cheaper than repairing hole from a rock to the cases!

It's pretty good, but if you ride offroad in rocks and tree branches, it will get worn out. It is not as durable as the aluminum pieces. It is mostly bling factor.

I ride a track littered with little rocks "Zaca Staion MX" and have taken my fair share of roosts and have fallen more times than i'd like to admit and this guard has held up. It is very thick and strong, it is worth the money in my opinion.

How come the lightspeed engine gaurd right does fit a honda 250?
MotoSport Staff Expert

Because the engine guard on the right side of a Honda has no where to attach it to. That is why companies like Works Connection only sells the right engine guard to fit with the WC Glide plate. There's no where to bolt it on to.
