What It Is

In the world of chest protectors, HRP Flak Jaks have been around for quite a few years now, but, for the most part, have remained largely unchanged. This new Flak Jak LT, however, is much different than previous models in that it's designed to fit perfectly around the revolutionary Leatt Brace. The shoulder pads and front and back panels are designed to surround and hold the Leatt Brace snugly. The LT also features an E-Leat Latch System that allows one shoulder pad to be moved out of the way, making it easily fit around the brace.

Hits

Perhaps the biggest and most obvious advantage to this chest protector is the fact that it is made specifically for a Leatt Brace. In order to wear a Leatt Brace with most other chest protectors, you must cut enough clearance to allow the brace to fit inside the chest protector. With the Flak Jak LT, that's not necessary, since the work is already done for you. We also liked the E-Leat Latch System, as it makes putting on the Flak Jak LT, with a Leatt Brace already on, very easy.

Misses

Getting the right size is super important when purchasing this chest protector, as we found that it tends to run on the smaller side. Our average-sized one fit a little on the thin side, so the slightly thicker testers felt it was snug.

The Verdict

Overall, we were impressed with the HRP Flak Jak LT. It's nice to see that a company is embracing the new Leatt Brace with open arms and is willing to produce a product designed with the new piece of safety equipment in mind.
