Terrible Bearings
" I heard bad things about Hot Rods Cranks, but I decided to try them out anyways. TERRIBLE IDEA!! They lasted 16 months, then my motor locked up. I tore it apart to find that one of my crank bearings had blown apart! I will never buy a Hot Rods product again! Honda had it right! "

" I would never use these first the seal let go so i replace the seal and then i start hearing a bearing noise from the motor so i split the case and find a crank bearing is coming apart i will only use OEM parts from now on "

" I put these in my 02 cr 250 and within 2 weeks they ceased up i put a new cylinder head and hot rods cranks in it i did a total rebuild along with big bore kit and v-force 3 reeds and it ceased up in 3rd gear so now i have to rebuild it once again and i just put over $100 bucks into it overall they are good but i think i either got flawed bearings or the mechanic took them and put the old ones back in "

Great product
" These bearings are a great improvement over stock they really match well with the hot rod crank and rod especially when u put a higher compression piston in your bike these are a must. "
Why are the Hot Rods bearings and seal kits only for Hot Rods cranks? Is it a clearance issue? Will the All Balls kit work on the Hot Rods crank?
Asked by shultz, San Dimas, CA
Well, I certainly couldn't tell you what exactly the differences are in the Hot Rods bearing and seal kits, but I do know that their cranks assemblies will only work with their respective bearing and seal kits. I'm left to assume that no other brand will work with their Hot Rods products, so the answer to your question must be no...

im a machinist and I rebuild my old kx 250 motor and i precisionaly measure the oem crank and a hot rods crank and every diameter, lengths, radius and tolerances and they are all 100% the same. Sooooo both cranks are 100% the same except for the rod is a higher rockwell reading (higher temper which mades the metal harder). They are 100% interchangable. I contaced Hot Rods and got to a guy that must have just started because he spilled the beans and said that they write that so you will have to buy more of there products (main bearings, cranks and seals.).
