GYTR BY FMF REVIEW

Rated average almost across the board because of these reasons. I use the bike for Motocross only for anyone that needs the know to relate to what kind of riding they do. First, it doesn't fit properly, likely because it is spec for pre 2005 all the way to current model year, 2005 started the alum frame, it is thicker than the steel frame YZ so it hits the frame rail, I had to make it fit so it didn't hit and vibrate. Second after I jetted it the power is great in the mid range comes on strong, off the bottom is not as good as the stock pipe, the top may have a little more pull than stock. Basically it looks sweet, unfortunately it should fit right without tweeking it and I wouldn't say it it is more broad across the board as advertised, so its average.

Doesn't fit my 2011 YZ 250 properly

Pipe fits right up against left frame rail. I had to modify it to clear, this is likely due to someone not realizing 2005 and up YZ 250s have aluminum frames that are thicker than the previous steel frames so it touches the frame there, or it just plain wasnt made properly. For having to modify the pipe to clear i give the pipe average ratings. To be honest I like the OEM perf the best. I've used Pro Circuit, it takes away from the bottom gives to the middle maybe a little to the top, I expect similiar results from this pipe after jetting. If I'm pleasantly surprised if it actually creates better power across all ranges as it states I'll revise the rating to reflect that. I just believe for the money the thing should fit properly to start.

GYTR exhaust pipe, not really impressed

I'll start by saying I like the performance of the OEM system on the YZ250s I've had. I only put aftermarket pipes on after the OEM pipe is beat and I can't find a good Used OEM on EBay. I've used Pro Circuit, they always fit properly but lose to much bottom, beef the mid range and maybe a little on top. This time I tried a GYTR by FMF pipe, right off the bat it doesn't fit right it touchs the left frame, I had to make it fit by slightly modifying the area on the pipe, shouldn't be that way, the spring mounts also are off position. As for performance I expect similarity to pro circuit, lose bottom move it to middle mostly and a lot of jetting fiddling. Just for fitment issues I already give it average ratings though. If I jet it and it actually does what it says in the description and keeps a healthy bottom and helps out across the board I'll amend this review later, but for now for 229.00 it's disappointing to have to make it fit right.
