  • The FMF Powerbomb header is the result of countless hours of research and development on and off the track seeking to maximize power from the exhaust system.
  • The unique design of the FMF Powerbomb header provides room for the expansion of the exhaust gases creating a 10% increase in exhaust flow. Translation: more power.
  • The larger "bomb" section of the FMF Powerbomb header creates more surface area to increase sound dissipation and lowering the dbs. By decreasing the sound level, your bike will more easily meet the tight sound restrictions.

This header works and fits great with a Powercore 4 Muffler. I recently installed it on my 2009 wr250f and it is so awesome. It really opens the bike up alot.

Great Mid-Top End Power!
The FMF Powerbomb MX header really woke up my YZ250F. The top end pulls very hard! I was skeptical if this mod would produce $170 worth of results. Out if the box the piece looks great and installation is very simple. When first used, the header turns a blueish purple, it's actually pretty neat looking. I could tell after the first fifteen minutes on the bike that I had made the right choice. Only Con: Does not come with a heat shield, burns pants easily and quickly!

I bought this with the FMF 4.1 exhaust. It is light weight, durable and was easy to install. There is no heat guard on this so make sure to wear long pants or riding pants to keep your leg from getting burned.

was very pleased with the product. key word "was". after a year of use the header broke in half. dont think they are supposed to do that. wouldnt mind if they sent me a new one free of charge.

Pretty sweet
once hot the header turns a golden brown which personally i think looks good. the power increase i could feel mid to top end. it feels like it will rev faster on the top. if anything it quieted it down from stock. installed on a 06 yz250f

Great mid to top end power gain
I really like the power increase it give in the mid to top end range of the motor. I ride an 07 YFZ 450. the only down side is that when the muffler gets hot, it looses its stainless finish look. but you can get a cleaner to polish it back up. easy to install.

FMF doesn't offer a heat shield for the powerbomb. Burning your boot is pretty common though for any head pipe that doesn't have a heat shield. You can use exhaust tape to help out, but it doesn't really look that great.

This will mount up to the powercore 4 slipon exhaust. The mid pipe that came with the slipon will be all you need.

If you are mounting this on a stock exhaust their will be no guarantee of correct fitment. FMF will only guarantee fitment only on their exhaust systems. And to answer your question there's nothing you'll need to do to the engine before installation. Please take serious note to my first comment about fitting this head pipe to anything other than FMF exhaust systems.

The SX version gives you a little more low to mid power and the MX version is better for mid to top end power.

FMF does claim their exhaust components are compatible with most of their line. If your Powercore IV is a slip-on and worked with your stock header, than i don't see any reason the FMF powerbomb wouldn't mount up. They did engineer it around the stock header for fitment.

You won't really notice much power gain as performance gain. FMF designed the powerbomb header to add more volume to the exhaust system without actually making it longer. That will give the bike more grunt or better low end response. the performance will be gradual through the mid range.

You can use it with the stock muffler if you want to but, it would be more benifitial for you to purchase an aftermarket muffler, and Jet kit.
