Product Description

D.I.D is the number one motorcycle chain in the world. D.I.D chains are used by factory races teams from all manufacturers in race series everywhere.

The D.I.D ERT2 chain is the most trusted chain in Supercross and motocross racing because of its reputation of meeting the high quality demands that are required when pushing the limits. It was designed with the intention of making a chain that is optimized for the purpose of racing. D.I.D beefed up the ERT2 chain by increasing the pin size by 3% to give the chain an average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds. Increasing the strength of the ERT2 chain did not come with a sacrifice of weight, in fact DID was able to shed 5% from the previous ERT chain.

  • Exclusively designed for motorcycle racing.
  • High-performance, lightweight and low friction chain.
  • 3% bigger pin diameter and 5% lighter than former ERT.
  • Provides the highest wear resistance, tensile strength and impact resistance.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 430.
  • Rated for up to a 450cc motocross bike.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 2.99 pounds.
  • Includes a clip-style master link.
  • 120 links.
  • Notes: ERT and ERT2 Connecting Links are not interchangeable. Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Good
But I expected better, I guess it was my fault. The last one lasted a lot longer than this one, but I did do quite a few muddy rides. I bought another one- what more can I say?

Stretches
i have rode on this chain 3 times now and every time it needs to be tightened...will not buy this chain again..pro taper xrc chains do not strtch more than once in my experience...i will say this tho...bling bling bling...this chain looks better and has held its true gold bling over the pro taper..may try the 175,000$ d.i.d next time...lol...this chain also has very little drag...if this chain didnt stretch so bad it would be my first and only chain choice....

Best Chain
This is the chain to have for vintage motocross. The tensile strength is good for even the open class two-strokes and has low pin wear with proper maintenance. O-ring chains are too thick for vintage and this will fit all vintage applications. You wont find a stronger chain that is still light weight and it looks good in gold also.

Great Chain, low friction
I installed this chain on my RMZ450 and have about an hour of aggressive trail riding in sandy conditions. The chain stretched a hair but not enough to have to re-adjust it. The finer details...the gold finish looks great and being a non-oring chain there is less friction and weight.

These Chains are "golden"!!
Cheesy, yes, but these chains are great! Only a little stretching after a few hours of hard riding. Holding up well to extreme xc riding.

Are all DID ERT-2 chains gold?
On this website http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/DID-520-ERT2-GOLD-CHAIN-120-LINKS/?catalogId=101393 it says DID 520 ERT-2 120L. Is that chain still gold or not? Thanks

Yes the DID 520 ERT-2 120L is going to be a gold chain.

Is the ERT2 compatible with 450fs?
The reason I ask is that DID's website says that it's for max CC of 250 but I see some guys here using it for 450s. Can some clarify this at all?
MotoSport Staff

Gold?
does the gold mean it wont rust?what chain do you suggest for gncc/hare scramble type riders?
Top 25 Contributor

No, the gold will still rust if you dont take care of it. I race GNCC and I always run a X-ring chain. It is a little heavier but you dont have to adjust it very often.
