What It Is

The Raceframe is the latest offering from Fox, and it replaces the popular Airframe roost deflector that's long been our favorite here at TransWorld Motocross. Featuring several new innovations, including integrated waist strap buckles, a two-way co-molded chest plate hinging system, rubber shoulder straps and massive, Lycra-lined biofoam padding in the collar area, the Raceframe is all new.

Hits

With three sizes to choose from, finding the right Raceframe is simple. Most of our testers wore the large and found the Raceframe to be exceptionally comfortable and easy to adapt to, right from the get-go. Unlike its predecessor-the Fox Airframe- the Raceframe hugs your body and has much less movement when riding. The biofoam padding in the collar and inside the body panels is nice and cushy, and the overall comfort level of the protector is very high, thanks to the numerous flex panels built into both the chest panel and the back panel. It is because of these flex points that the Raceframe can be worn closer to your body than other roost deflectors. Thanks to many well-placed vents, the Raceframe is also one of the best-breathing protectors we've worn, and the rubber shoulder straps allow the shoulder to float freely, and also provide a very wide range of adjustment.

Misses

Larger riders, say in the 200 lb.-plus category, will be hard pressed to squeeze into a size large Raceframe. Perhaps Fox Racing already has a size extra large in the works.

The Verdict

The Fox Airframe has been our favorite roost deflector for years. Not anymore. The new Fox Raceframe blows its predecessor away.

" I AM 6-1, 220, AND THE SIZING CHART IS WAY OFF BY SUGGESTING A LARGE. IT IS TOO SMALL AND I FEL CRAMPED. I DO HOWEVER LIKE THE STYLE AND THE FACT IT IS LIGHT WEIGHT. PROBLEM IS,IT ONLY COVERS UPPER CHEST AREA AND COMES UP SHORT IN FRONT. IF YOU ARE 5-10, 165, YOU WILL REALLY LIKE THIS "L" PRODUCT. "

Pretty good buy
" This is a very stylish and good looking chest protector! I got a medium and i am 135 lbs. and it was a good fit. The only problem is that is only covered part of my chest. If it were to be more protective then it would have more surface area in the chest. Otherwise it's a tight chest protector. "

Sizing is WAY off!!
" I'm 5'-11 and 190 lbs. Ordered a large and it didn't even come close to fitting. It was tight in the arms and the chest was about 1/3 uncovered. I would say that a large would fit someone who is 5'-9 and 165 lbs. No more! Needless to say, this chest protector was returned. "

" Had this Chest protector for a few months now and all i can say is WOW! I never really liked the feel of wearing chest protector, but after wearing this i always wear it. When i ride it doesnt have a bulky or restricting feeling. i hardly remember im even wearing one because it feels so light and comfortable but at the same time i know im safe. LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! "

VERY comfortable chest protetector.
" This chest protector is very flexible at the rubber (black) joints it has but otherwise is very solid. Rivets and bolts hold up very well and the padding foam on the inside is very comfortable yet durable. Also, very good airflow. "

comfortable, but short lived
" I bought this chest protector 2 months ago, and it already has 4 cracks in it. I previously owned a fox airframe, which went through the same scrutiny as this raceframe for 2 years, and it showed no signs of damage. The cracks are in the left shoulder from a high speed wahsout and on the right buckle area from blowing a berm and loosing control of the bike. although the raceframe does have its flaws it is confortable, well vanted and prtects tyoufrom roost vert well. all in all, it is a well vented, comfortable and easily breakable chest protector that is very expensive. there are better options "

No Encumrances
" This is a really great chest protector. [1] Compared to other guards, it really does a great job with some impact protection. [2] It is very well vented [3] The rubber straps do a great job flexing and let the guard move with you. My brother is George Costanza "no encumbrances" type. He normally runs a foam guard under the jersey. I let him try it and he also gave it rave reviews. The bicep protectors are a bit chincy, but they are easily added/removed. "

would recommend
" so all in all it was a good chest protector for me, i was doin about 40 in a canal bank hit around 50 and saw a quad comin the other way swung to the left pitched me off my bike and got a bolder in the chest. knocked the wind outa me, and momentarly black out, cracked the chest protector tho. For the money honestly i think the troy lee disignes was more durable, but still a awsome chest protector, saved me from bein hospitalized. "

Best Chest protector out there
" i love it, its so comfortable. i had an EVS Flux before this and it was good, but this is 10 times better, and fits with the leatt with minor modification(cutting off biofoam on the sides of your neck) "

not leatt compatable
" i purchased the raceframe and a leatt brace at the same time.the raceframe was very comfortable and provided great protection, but would not work with the leatt without major modification.i sent the raceframe back and have now ordered an airframe.i couldn't shell out $150 and start cutting it up.the raceframe is a great product but nowadays everything should be leatt brace compatable.
