Product Description

Invented by Michelin, Michelin Bib-Mousse has an unparalleled number of victories and championships: 26 victories in the Dakar Rally-Raid since 1983, 22 Enduro World Championship and 7 Motocross World Championships!

Michelin's Bib-Mousse is a foam core insert which replaces a standard rubber inner tube in off-road motorcycle tires. It is a sponge-like circle of butyl honeycomb foam whose tiny cells are charged with nitrogen. Lighter than a heavy duty tube, Michelin Bib-Mousse offers an equivalent pressure of 13 PSI (0.9 bar) and removes the inconvenience from a puncture. The smooth molded outer skin is designed to help it slip into its specified size of off-road motorcycle tire (Michelin tires ONLY). Developed by Michelin for expert racers who must finish each and every race. When you cannot tolerate a DNF, get Bib-Mousse!

  • Bib-Mousse replaces conventional tubes.
  • Made from a multi-cellular butyl material providing a pressure equivalent of approximately 13 PSI (0.9 bar).
  • Specifically designed for off-road competition use, at speeds up to 80 MPH.
  • Each Bib-Mousse includes a tube of Bib-Mousse fitting gel.
  • Virtually eliminates flats.

Notes: Use only with Michelin off-road tires; because Bib-Mousse is shaped for a perfect fit inside Michelin tires, use of Bib-Mousse with other brands of tires can lead to handling instability and possible destruction of Bib-Mousse. Bib-Mousse is specifically designed for off-road competition use for speeds UP TO 80 MPH (130 km/h). Above this speed, heat build-up can lead to rapid destruction of the Bib-Mousse, resulting in serious injury to the rider. Under no circumstances should Bib-Mousse be fitted to motorcycles for on-road use.

NO FLATS!!

I finally decided to run the bib mousse tubes towards the end of the 2011 GNCC Racing season when I was leading a race in Pennsylvania, 8 hours from my home in Germanton, NC. Soon after, I switched to the bib mousse tubes and no longer have to worry about flats.

Michelin Bib Mousse

pays for its self, i ride almost 4 hours every weekend on trails that are miles from civilization and knowing that my tire is going to hold up puts my mind at ease because those of you who have had to run a rim off a bike or push one for more than a mile up and down hills will know what i mean. the only draw back to the insert is how difficult to install it was, try changing a tire with a fully inflated tube....

Great!

I race motocross and this is the way to go runs about 8 to 10 psi gives tire a good squat to hook up. i hate changing tubes so i tried this and will never run tubes again! alot of pro motocross riders like chard reed run this. so its great for woods or track. the harder you ride the faster it wears out and there somewhat of a pain to get in but well worth it in my opinion. i run it in a dunlop mx51 so you DONT have to get a michelin tire will work in alot of big company tires!!

The only way to go !

In the front tire the mouse is awesome ! I've tried heavy tubes , tubliss system, this is the way to go. Both my dual sport and race bike run mouse in the front and tubliss in the rear. I can adjust the rear pressure in the air chamber for different conditions and not worry about the front ever. best system I've used.

By replicating 13psi of tire pressure will running these inserts have a negative effect on handling where I would normally run higher pressures?

if like more than 13psi in your tires then you may not like these. its a matter of personal preference.
