Love this filter
I love this filter. Can change oil every ride with no worries of having new filter. Plus, I am not a paper filter type of guy. Get one and pay the price up front then relax because all is good.

Paper filters are in the past now. Stainless reusable ones are the way to go in my opinion. I have had mine in my 250f for over a year now with no problems. Goes in just like a regular paper one, and its simple to clean.

I used one of these filters in my 2008 RMZ450 and it was great, never had a problem. I went to put one in my 2010 KTM 450 XCW and when I got it the sealing oring on the engine side of the filter was extremely tight, had to force it on. Then after 5 oil changes and filter cleanings the engine side of the filter came off, ruining the filter.

I've used it for over two months now, still in good condition, isn't as good performance as the paper ones (ull feel it wen u first use the clutch) but u get used to it it's no problem cus it's already payed for itself and saved me over $20 on oil filters, must have for 4 stroke owners who are tight on cash, make sure u clean it correctly it will last you if u do, (instructions on the back of the box) although I blow dry mine with an air compressor after spraying it with contact cleaner, it's quicker that way

Filtration?
Do they filter as good as the K&N paper filters? Is it okay to clean them in Varsol?

Yes, they filter just as good as a standard paper filter. Any solvent or degreasing agent will work fine for cleaning.

Would anyone consider using a reusuable filter (like this one) for the average weekend warrior/motocross race bike?

i used to use them, it would be the first thing i bought every time. i just recently bought a 125 so i dont use these anymore but i swear buy them. you can pull them out and clean them in between motos.

How do you clean these reusable fliters? How long do they last?
Over 3 years ago Location: Burlington, WI
I clean it using the solvent in my parts washer, and blowing it out with compressed air after cleaning. I've been using the same filter in my last 3 CRF450's, so 4 years and counting on the same filter.

these will last the life of the bike, the internal filters are metal so they will not tear down with normal oil changing

You clean them with a chemical solvent like gas or kerosene. it will last as long as you have your bike for sure, they dont wear out.
Over 3 years ago Location: quanah tx
You clean them with a light solivent and let dry before reinstilation and will last a long time if you do not use heavy chem to clean them
