Product Description

  • The insurmountable quality of SDG is proven with their Step Seat, designed for full throttle racing since 1991.
  • The unique shape of the SDG Step Seat provides a ridge toward the back of the seat to keep the rider in the optimal racing position.
  • SDG built the Step Seat ready to install. The nylon composite seat frame is built to OEM specifications. The padding of the seat is constructed out of closed cell foam to provide water-resistance and reduce seat foam breakdown. Wrapping the Step Seat up is a 3 piece gripper seat cover that keeps the rider stuck in position and features double-stitched, taped seams.
  • SDG is a company that is breed for racing and they took advantage of in-house design and shaved weight.
  • The Step Seat was engineered with replaceable mounting brackets on most models.

Great seat
If you have a 450, get this seat. No matter how hard i open the throttle, i will not slide off the seat. The hump of the seat is in perfect location and to top it off, the seat is really comfortable. Take off the old seat, slap this one on and your ready to ride.

Ive had better
Well instal wasn't the easiest with my over sized tank. I had to cut the plastic piece the hooks onto the tank but i had to do that with the stock one so no biggie. After i had it on it took a little bit to get used to and once i did i loved it. I had it for a month or so and got a small rip on the side, it didn't bother me because i race hare scrambles and stuff like that always happens. Well after about 3 months and a 2 hour race i now have a huge gash in the side and have to buy a new seat. Great i get to spend another $125 to buy a new one. Performance was great, Fit and function was decent, Durability was bad

SDG are the best
Well i bought this for my 07 crf250r and it went on no hassel. The step was in the perfect location for me and it really helped my corner speed by keeping me it the "ATTACK" position. SDG seats are the way to go i also have an SDG tall seat on my RM 125 and i have had it for about a year now and it still looks new, Built well and withstands the abuse. I will def purchase SDG seats from now on

Great Seat
I have a 2007 CRF250R. What can I say, I took my stock seat off put this new seat on, put the bolts back in and went riding. This is exactly what I expected.

Great seat & fit for a 08 CRF450
All of the bad reviews about the poor fit of this seat did not pertain to my bike so I decided to give it a shot. Glad I did - this thing fits perfectly on my '08 CRF450. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and you don't have to break down your current seat to use it. Would like it even more if they offered a color other than black but whatever. It works great. It fits perfectly on my bike. Done deal.

Seat is well built but fit is poor. Bought for an 06 Honda CRF450. You can slide your hand between back of seat and fender.

Not a good fit
Let me start by saying this is a well built, durable seat. However, the fit sucks. The base touchs the subframe cross-member leaving the seat brackets an inch too high when trying to line up the holes. Choices are to force the seat down and install bolts. But back of seat floats, doesn't look right. I notched the seat base to fit over the subframe cross-member, re-drilled the bracket holes and got the seat to go 1 inch lower which is great since I'm only 5'9". Would I buy it again? Probably, just because of the price savings. This was on a 2007 RMZ 450 Suzuki.

On the step seats the lower portion of the seat will still be stock height. The rear portion is raised from stock height to make the step.

No, The RMZ250 or RMZ450 2005 model are not the same seat. the KX250F and RMZ250 2005 model share the same seat, but that's it.
