Although the Rod is stamped, "made in the USA", the Hotrods crank and bearings are made in Taiwan, which is the Republic of China. The lower bearing on the one I purchased lasted exactly seven tenths of an hour. Adding insult to injury, Hotrods customer service is non-existent.

Great product

This is a little harder to install than the Wiseco since the bearings aren't on it already. Great product though. Hopefully it will be as durable or more than the WISECO

Very good so far

yz250f. The crank measured true within one thousandth before installation. Bearings installed nice and the bike runs very smooth. The bike has about 20hrs of riding with no crank or rod issues and no weird looking oil at changes. If the crank continues to operate this good for a reasonable period of time I would definitely buy another.

Stroker Crank....

Bought this crank with BBK for a 470 build on a Z 400. Very nice quality, rod comes already installed. Very nice power increase with stroker build. Strong parts, and awesome Motosport service! Tough combo to beat.

Does this assembly come with the bearings and gaskets?
MotoSport Staff Expert

No. This would only be the crank assembly for your KTM 250SX. You would need to order the main bearings and gaskets separately.

Does the Crank fit tight into the left roller bearing for the CRFs?
I bought this crank and bearing kit for my 2006 crf250R. The crank slides right in the right main ball bearing but fits very tight into my left main roller bearing. I have to pound it in with a rubber mallet? Should it be this tight or maybe could i have been shipped the wrong size crank/bearing combo by mistake? The bearing fits perfect into the case but some reason the crank wont slide into the bearing.

Do you got a crank that will fit a 1991 cr250r honda?
MotoSport Staff
4 months 20 days ago
Unfortunately Hot Rods does not offer a Complete crank for your 1991 CR250 and Honda has discontinued their Crank Assembly. Your best bet is finding someone who is able to rebuild your existing crank. If you give us a call, we can assist you in getting a connecting rod and a crankshaft bearing kit. (888) 676-8853

Will an 05 yz450f crank fit into a 00 426f?
I'm planning and hoping to convert my 426f engine into a true 450 and from what I've red so far the only difference is the stroke. Would I be able to swap the cranks or would it be easier to just drop a 450 engine into my 00 426. And also will a 2005 engine fit into a 2000 frame if I have to go that way

Which one is better?
which crank puts out more power but is still relible this crank or the stroker crank?

Pro-x is more of a stock crank and hot rods is more of a performance crank so to answer your question the hot rods will make more power but the pro-x will be more reliable.
MotoSport Staff
Over 9 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Any of the the aftermarket cranks that are stock stroke will not produce more or less horsepower than the OEM stock crank. A stroker crank will increase the horsepower, as you are increasing the displacement of the engine. The stroker cranks with proper maintenance to the engine and if ridden correctly shouldn't be much less reliable. Stroker motors tend to not rev as a high because the piston has a a farther distance to travel, and if revved beyond its limit can become less reliable than a stock crank.

Is this a complete kit?crank, bearings, seals,caskets for 2012 150sx?
MotoSport Staff
Over 9 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This is only going to be the crank assembly itself. It does not include main bearings, seals or gaskets and they would need to be purchased in addition to the crank for a full bottom end rebuild.

Is the crank the same for a 2000 kx125, and 2003 kx125?
MotoSport Staff
1 year ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The cranks between a 2000 and 2003 KX125 are different. Unfortunately Hot Rods does not offer a complete crank for and thing older than a 2003 model KX125. I check with Wiseco also and unfortunately they do not offer one either.

Why dont they make a crank kit for a 2002 rm 250?
MotoSport Staff
1 year 1 month ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The reason why Hot Rods doesn't have a complete crank assembly available for the 2002 Suzuki RM250 is based off demand. Suzuki only used this crank from 2001-2002 and was changed in 2003. They do however offer the connecting rod itself, which can be used when rebuilding the stock one.

The hot rod crank assembly for a crf250r does it need barings and seals?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 4 years ago Location: Portland, OR
The main crank bearings and seals are not included with the crank assembly. We do sell a complete bottom end kit that includes them depending on if you need to replace them.
