Modified for KLX250s

I shattered my fork guards during a dual sport ride. Of course no one sells a direct replacement for the dual sport. After some thread searching everyone said these would work with "some modifications" Well they do somewhat work, but do not expect fitment to be as nice as factory. Lots of cutting and modifying. The quality of the product is great though.

Works well

Good replacement for the '89 YZ's. Looks like the stock guards but made a bit stronger than the originals.

Fitment Issue

I have a 2003 RM250 and the guards themselves fit fine but the clamps that came with it did not fit. The stock ones are different entirely so using the stock ones with the new guards is not feasible. The plastic seemed to be very durable and would be an excellent option oposed to the fortune I would spend on stock ones if they made the clamps in the correct size. I think if your going to carry a product and tell me that this part will specifically fit my bike, maybe you should make sure. This gets two stars only because I returned it with very little hassle but I dont understand why Motosport would carry bike specific items that are not bike specific.

The actual fork guards fit just fine. The replacement plastic ring that the guard slides on didn't fit the fork they were too small. I had to reuse my old ones.

'11 Kx250

I usually opt for OEM plastic for best fitment but i thought i would give these a shot. I can say they were almost identical to oem except the one for the right side fork the bolt holes didnt line up just right and it was a pain to put on. Other than that they look great.

1992 kx80 bigwheel facelift help?
Looking for all of the most current forms of plastic to update my 1992 kx80 bigwheel to a more modern looking machine. I understand I am stuck with the single shroud unless I switch the tank out. But looking for 2014 front fender/number plate, 1998+ white side panels,, rear fender & fork guards...problem is that I dont have a place where to start to check what year fits my 1992 model. This is where you come in, please help with checking on if these newer mentioned plastics would work out or not. Thanks -

Does this product look like the stock, OEM 1989 YZ 125 fork guards?
I am looking for fork guards that are an exact match to the OEM 1989 parts. The fork guards that Yamaha used on the 1989 YZ's were a one year only design. Hard to tell from a generic photo.

Unfortunately, the guides for your 1989 Yamaha YZ250 are no longer available from Yamaha and the UFO Fork Guards will not come with them.

Are the glides that mount to the upper part of the fork included/?
MotoSport Staff
Over 6 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The UFO fork guards do not include the glides for the upper fork tube. The guides can be purchased from the OEM parts fiche for your 2001 YZ125 here: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/oem-parts/YAMAHA/2001/YZ125/FRONT-FORK

I have a 1993 Harley Davidson Sportster 883 that I am converting to a Scrambler. Do you have any fork protectors to fit this bike??
MotoSport Staff
Over 9 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The conventional style of fork on this bike would not use this style of fork guard. The conventional forks will use a fork boot. You will need to measure the diameter of the upper fork tube, the lower fork tube outer diameter where the upper fork tube slides in, and the length from the lower triple clamp to the lower fork tube with the forks fully extended. If you can call us with those measurements we can get you a set of fork boots that will protect the fork tubes for this project on your Sportster

Does this come with the guide rings?
MotoSport Staff
1 year 1 month ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
These will just be the fork guards themselves. If you need the guide rings, you will want to check out the OEM parts diagram under your specific model.
