Expensive but worth it
I've tried a few different brands for skid plates but Devol is my favorite now. I bought this plate for my KX250F that I ride in the woods. The plate is lightweight but strong. The plate comes with mounting hardware and flush mount screws underneath the bike. Those bolts take an allen head wrench and they fill up with mud. But, it's better than having a bolt head dragging on logs. I like this plate!

Can be a pain to install if you don't have someone to give you a hand.. Oil drain plug hole wasn't % accurate for my 05 KX250. Have to remove the plate to change the gear oil. Durable. I have tested this plate repeatedly with no issue.

i just bought this skid plate for my 2000 kawsaki kx 250. it looks great . it does kinda stick out on the left side a little but it is still good lookin. I took me an hour to put it together by myself . it was very difficult to put on. but I would highly reccoment this plate for kx 's

Great looking plate, plate fits well other than.........the right rear hole for the mounting bolt would not line up. Drilled a new hole 1" behind it. Works fine now. Figured that was easier than sending it back.

Different From The Picture
Does not look the same as the one in the picture. For a 2000 yz 125 it does not have any air flow holes, but its ok for blocking mud. The wings aren't as large but the construction of it is very high quality. The bolt heads are counter sunk into the metal, even with the plate (which is a good thing) It is more similar to the look of the moose skid plate but Devol is higher quality and worth the money

I've ran a devol before on another bike and decided to slap one on my 11' kx250f because the stock plastic guards were thrashed. It went on easy and protects the cases well without being ridiculously big. Looks great, works great, cheaper than other similar skid plates. BUY THIS ONE.

My bike didnt come with a skid plate stock so does this product come with the bolts and rubber mounts necessary to to put on this gaurd?

I spoke to someone on the phone and they said this will fit a 2008 RM250 but that is not listed on the drop down. Will it fit?

Not too sure why the 08 isnt available in the drop down, but if you profile your bike as an 05, the skid plates are going to be the same. 01-09 all run the same skid plate.

does this mount on the underside of the frame or does it also mount on the plastic gaurds ?

This will do away with the stock plastic guards, and they will be replaced with the whole new skid plate. This attaches under the frame, to protect it from rocks, and etc.

Can you change the oil filter without removing the plate?

The ones I've seen have the drain hole pre-drilled. But for some reason they never line up like you would think. If you're not the type to care about a little oil residing on the bottom of the chassis than keep it on. But if you're like me and don't like anything out of place than remove it to drain the oil.

I have owned two Devol plates; one for a 2009 KX250F and another for 2004 KX250. Both plates had a hole that aligned with the oil plug so changing the oil with the plate in place was no problem. Good Luck!

These skid plates are pre-drilled for oil drainage.
