Product Description

Renthal's R1 Works Chain is a high-strength non O-ring chain with excellent impact load resistance designed specifically to withstand the stress found in off-road applications. This chain is the choice where a combination of high strength, light weight and maximum power transfer are important considerations.

  • Shot-peened alloy steel side plates for high tensile strength and maximum impact load resistance.
  • Chamfered inner links to reduce the chance of chain derailment.
  • Extended bushings to reduce friction between outer and inner link plates, maximizing power output.
  • Chromized bearing pins for excellent resistance to wear.
  • Gold color side plates help prevent corrosion.
  • Most perfectly matched chain for Renthal sprockets allowing maximum power at the rear wheel. This also extends the life of both the chain and sprockets.
  • Average tensile strength of 4,271 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 300.
  • Maximum displacement (street / off-road): N/A / 150cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 1.76 pounds.
  • Each chain includes master link and a pair of latex gloves for mess free installation.
  • 130 links.
  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Not impressed.

Although the Renthal sprockets are super-light, I'm not convinced they are worth the extra $. The sprockets are super soft aluminum, which caused me to have to replace on my sons CR85R alot earlier than I expected. Exactly 12 months later, and very few rides, I find myself going back to good old seel. I'm sure my son won't notice he difference. They did come with some cool Renthal stickers though!

My broken 420 chain has 48 links (if I'm counting correctly) but 420 comes in 120 or 130 links, How do you order?

The KLX110, if thats what you have, with stock gearing uses 86 links. The 420 x 120 chain will work, but you will have to cut the extra links off to make it fit. These chains are not pre-cut so you will need to have some type of chain breaker or grinder to remove the links.
