Product Description

The Twin Air Air Filter's design, high-quality materials and superior construction deliver unbeatable performance and protection - and make Twin Air Filters the hands-down choice of more World and National Champions than all other filters combined.

  • Twin Air filters are designed to increase airflow while ensuring the highest level of protection from dirt / dust.
  • Coarse open-pore foam catches airborne dirt, grime and sand.
  • Fine open-pore inner foam acts as a second filter to trap the smallest particles while ensuring maximum air passage.
  • Exclusively formulated adhesive ensures glue seams will not break down.
  • Thick, flat foam, greaseless sealing ring ensures maximum contact with your airbox, while acting as a breathable gasket for increased air passage.
  • Fused outer and inner elements prevent dirt and grime from being lodged between layers, unlike Twin Air, this can be a problem with inferior two-piece designs. Trapped particles can restrict airflow. And, if dirt works it's way into your engine, a pinhead-sized granule will gouge your cylinder, piston and rings like a bullet.

Twin Air Air Filter
Good product, I put this on my 08 CRF 250R after the factory filter was toast. Was easy to install, fit the factory filter brace very well. I really like this fitler because it has a very durable feeling to it, not a flimsy feeling,

Only brand I use
When I find a product that works I stick with it! I've used Twin-Air Filters for 10+ years and have great success. They are durable, well made and I've never had dirt get past the filter. I used PJ1 cleaners and oils and the combination has served me well.

Great buy!
The air filter is your first line of defense when it comes to protecting the motor from foreign debris, so you want to make sure you have a quality air filter. The Twin Air dual stage filter is a quality product that I would recommend to anyone looking for an upgrade from stock.

Washing? after i have it all washed can i throw it on a shoe rack in my dryer to dry, or will i damage the filter?
MotoSport Staff
2 years 11 months ago Location: P+RTLAND
You should either let the filter air dry, or blow it dry with compressed air.
Top 250 Contributor Top 50 Contributor

If you put it in a dryer you will damage the filter. This and most filters like this need to be air dried after they are washed. If you try to dry it with an air dryer or anything other than just leaving it in the sun it will damage the filter.

Will this fit 2005 yamaha wr450?

yes this will fit. Use the drop down menu to the right of the product. If you can profile your bike, then the product will fit.

Twin air makes filters for most bikes you just have to order the one for your specific bike.

I just bought a twin air filter for my 2008 crf450. I was just wondering if you are suppose to discard the oem filter cage?
Top 100 Contributor
Over 3 years ago Location: louisville, ky
No this uses the Oem cage.
no, but cut the screen on the cage out, they are made of bacckfire resistant foam

NO! Used your OEM cage with the new Twin Air Filter.
Top 250 Contributor Top 50 Contributor

You don't have to throw the cage away. You can throw it away but it is actually a backfire screen and personally i take the screen out when I ride in the woods when I ride the tracks. I leave it in for the woods because it is dustier and the screen is like an extra filter, but take it out for the track because I like to get every ounce of horsepower.

Is this the same as the factory pre oiled filter?
On this website is this the same filter but it is already pre oiled? http://dominus.rideshop.com/ViewProduct/FactoryPreOiledHondaCRF250R04-09CRF250X04-10CRF450RX03-08/4466.aspx

Yes. Just more expensive for the pre-applied oil
2 years 12 months ago Location: Covington,Va
I've purchased 4 twin airs for 4 different bikes and they've all matched up great, the filter its self is better than oem but you have to oil it yourself
Top 50 Contributor Top 250 Contributor
29 days ago Location: Crowley, LA, USA
It is oiled and cleaned in the same way as the stock filter, but it more of a performace product and does not come pre-oiled, so you have to have oil to put on it before you put it on the bike.

Can you put a twin air filter in a bike that does not have duel exaust?
Top 250 Contributor
Over 3 years ago Location: Burton, Texas
yes, i have three yz250f (not dual exhaust) that i run those in.
2 years 12 months ago Location: Covington,Va
Yes most deffinately, if they say it fits it fits , the twin air boys don't play when it comes to oem specs and sizing
Top 250 Contributor Top 50 Contributor
29 days ago Location: Crowley, LA, USA
Yes you can. Twin Air is a name brand not a dual filter. They make filters for most off-road bikes.

Will the twin air filter give my 400ex more hp than a k&n filter?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
Hard to say since I dont have any specs from the dyno for either of these products. Both will be about the same gain as far as HP goes.

Most aftermarket filters have very close to the same amount of air flow capacity. Therefor, Any difference in power will be minimal. More airflow can be achieved with the addition of an aftermarket intake boot and on some models, a cage-less intake system.

Pretty much the same, you will most likely not be able to tell the difference.

Do i need a aftermarket filter bolt because on my o9 crf 250r the stock bolt seems too short?
MotoSport Staff Expert
Over 3 years ago Location: Portland, OR
You should not have to use any other filter bolt than the stock OEM. The thickness of this filter might be a little fatter than stock, so you might have to work at it to get the filter bolt started. Once you've taken the filter on and off a few times it will get easier.
Top 1000 Contributor
2 months 10 days ago Location: Columbia, SC, USA
The stock bolt should be sufficient. Make sure the filter cage sits on the mounting bracket correctly, otherwise the bolt will not fit, nor will you have a proper seal.

The stock bolt fits you just may not have it installed it correctly.

Does it need to be greased?
Does it need to be greased where it touches the air box?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
You dont necessarily need to but it's recommended.
2 years 12 months ago Location: Covington,Va
yes you will have to oil the filter when you recieve it, but its worth it
Top 250 Contributor Top 50 Contributor

You can grease it but personally I just spray a little extra air filter oil right there and it seals fine.
Junio Over 3 years ago
The Filter, Twin air, whats different between pre-oil or no pre-oil?
This filter has no pre-oil, so is that mean its ready to install and ready race?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
Pre oiled filters are ready to go out of the box, the non pre oiled filters need to be oiled before riding.
Top 1000 Contributor
2 months 10 days ago Location: Columbia, SC, USA
Pre-oiled means the filter is ready to install and you will be on your way. Non pre-oiled filters come completely dry and need to have a quality filter oil applied and dried before installation.
Top 50 Contributor Top 250 Contributor
29 days ago Location: Crowley, LA, USA
It needs to be oiled before use it just does not come with oil already on it or the oil in the bag you have to purchase the oil seperatly.
