Must Need for a 2 Stroke

I recently purchased a IMS tank and fell in love the second i put it on the bike. At first i thought that it might be to bulky and get in the way when trying to get on the tank in corners but after all its really good choice and i would recommend it to anyone who enjoys off road racibng

IMS Gas Tank - 3.2 Gallons Natural
Overall
Not the best purchase ever.

it's easy to install, but the design is not good, you would see that the tank sides reaches a lower level than the center and when you ride your bike you would have fuel on the right side that won't be used because the fuel valve is on the left side, on the other hand the seat doesn't fit correctly, it pushes the seat like 1/2 of inch to the back. and the screws won't match the hole. Motosport, never said you would need the YZ450F shrouds, on the description, so thats another issue i have to buy the yz450f 2006-2009 shrouds for my wr450f 2011.

IMS Desert Tank

My previous Acerbis tank got a leak and it was a bit too small for desert, so I bought this IMS 3.7 gallon tank. It's well built and fits pretty good. The radiator shrouds didn't fit perfectly on the tank but I was still able to get them on. Also, you can't access the spark plug (not on an '07 KTM 250sx anyway), but that was expected. After several crashes the tank seems the same as it was when it was new.

IMS WR250R FuelTank

I was going back and forth on an aftermarket tank for my 2011 WR250R between the IMS and the Safari. I decided on the IMS for the original appearance and smaller size. The IMS is a direct bolt on and fit perfectly in the stock location with no modifications required. Simply remove the factory tank, swap over the fuel pump, and drop the IMS tank on the bike. A few of the stock tabs on the stock tank also get used on the IMS and IMS includes all the necessary hardware to make the change over simple. The IMS tank is slightly wider and deeper than the factory tank and pushes the factory plastic out from seat about 1/2" on each side. The added width isn't noticeable and maintains a comfortable stance for sliding forward on the tank and standing. The IMS Kit comes complete with all the fasteners you'll need as well as a new O Ring seal for the fuel pump.

Great fit

Very satisfied, installation was fast and easy 2010 KX450. It was nice to finish a 2hr hare scramble without stopping for gas. Fits just like stock tank and couldn’t tell a difference in ride or weight, most importantly no leaks.

Great fit & finish

I bought this oversize tank for my CRF450R 2005. The extra 5 liters adds 70% to the stock tank yet fits neatly within the original shrouds without sitting too high like the Clarke or Acerbis tanks tend to. Better still, the tank has fitted seamlessly around my Mishimoto radiators, Devol radiator guards & Scotts steering damper without a hitch. I couldn't have asked for more.

Will this tank require me to buy a YZ seat???
I have a 2002 Yamaha WR250F. The Clarke tank requires that I get a YZ seat for proper fit on my bike. Will I need to get a YZ seat for this tank to fit properly to my bike as well or will the stock seat bolt up to this tank??

This IMS fuel tank would require the use of a 2002 Yamaha YZF seat to fit properly.

Yes, this would fit the 2013 Suzuki DRZ400S. Please note the image online is for reference only and may not be the exact tank for your year/make/model.

Do all stock outer plastics work with this tank? This is the correct tank for a 2013 WR450F? I found another ims tank for the bike, but not this one.?
Expert MotoSport Staff

Yes all the OEM radiator/tank shrouds from your 2013 Yamaha WR450F would work with this tank. From what I can tell IMS only makes one 3 gallon fuel tank for your bike (*PLEASE NOTE: The Image on our website is a generic image of an IMS Fuel Tank, it may not represent the actual tank for your make/model).

Will it fit?
Hello,I was wonsering If this tank would fit on my 2013 KTM 250sx
MotoSport Staff Expert
3 months 3 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
This particular tank is not made to fit the 2013 KTM 250SX. There is a 3.3 Gallon IMS tank available for your bike though and 3.0 and 3.2 Gallon Tanks available from Acerbis for your bike.

Does this tank have radiator shrouds built into it?
Can't tell by picture. Looking for an IMS tank(natural), WITHOUT shrouds built into it, that'll fit an 01' KTM 300 mxc........ Thanks in advance

Does this tank fit with oversized radiator? 2003 Honda crf450r?
MotoSport Staff
4 months 26 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The fuel tanks are designed to fit with stock radiators. While they may fit with aftermarket oversize radiators, fitment cannot be guaranteed.
therandyman Over 7 months ago Location: Santa Fe, N.M.
Does the design allow the use of all 4.9 gallons, without the use of a vacuum pump, or is the gas at the bottom not accessible by the motorcycle?
MotoSport Staff
Over 7 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
With this tank on the WR250R, you must use the stock Vacuum system. This tank will allow you to use all the fuel it caries while riding. A link to the installation instructions from IMS so you can see the install of the tank can be found here : http://www.imsproducts.com/Tech/VisualInstalls/Details.cfm?PartNum=117332&Model_Option=&page=1

2013 yz250f will tank fit with moose radiator brace.?
MotoSport Staff
Over 6 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The Moose Radiator braces do not allow enough clearance for aftermarket over size tanks.
