Product Description

  • AC Racing produced their subframe to offer a quality replacement part that is easy on the wallet.
  • AC Racing realizes riding your motorcycle hard can come with consequences which resulted in making a subframe that is structurally made entirely out of 100% aluminum with 6061 billet and CNC bent mounting points and lugs.
  • AC Racing puts every subframe through a heat treating process that results in an extremely tough product.
  • To prevent rusting and provide durability AC Racing uses stainless steel thread inserts.
  • The AC Racing subframe is built with tight tolerances to provide an exact OEM match and ensure an exact fit every time. AC racing uses square or round tubing to match OEM build dimensions.

2013 RMZ450 junk sub frame.
I bought this subframe too save money from OEM. Do not make the same mistake as I did. The fit was terrible, the quality looks like it was made at a middle school shop class from scrap metal out of a dumpster and after 6 rides the welds had broken in two places. I contacted AC Racing and notified them. Their response was for me to pay for it too be shipped and welded. Save your money and go OEM.

Good price for a subframe and fits pretty easily BUT the mounts dont hold up well at all and it bends way too easily! I layed the bike over ever so slightly and it bent! The exhaust mount stripped the threads the first time we remounted the exhaust and the thing didnt hold up well at all! Wouldn't buy it again. Pay more for a good OEM!!

mine fit perfect but it bent after 3 races and the top bolt thread stripped out and silencer hole had to be re taped... but hard to beat the price!

The good: Weighs exactly the same as stock about 2.2 lb. Very nice welds, n machining! All steel thread inserts, except muffler mount. Looks great, especially at about half price of OEM. The not so good: Requires minor tweaking to fit initally. Noticeably weaker than stock! Was my fault, but dropped bike loading it after first ride n bent it... classic example of 'ya get what ya pay for'!!!!

Its gets the job done but....
the ac subframe wieghs way more than my stock '05 crf 250f subframe. its bulky. and no where near the quality of the stock one. the bolt holes dnt line up and the casting holding one if the nuts in broke and i had 2 jb weld it. it gets the job done but is no where near the quality of stock...

AC Racing Subframe
I just bolted the subframe onto an 06 honda 450. It was a great fit. No more than a simple flex of the tubing and all the bolt holes lined up great. The frame seems plenty ridged without being brittle. We will run the bike tommrrow at Rio. Let you know how it rides after tommrrow.Only thing I can say is I didn't get any AC Racing decals for our trailer

Fit my bike pretty good
This fit my 2004 CRF250R quite well. Took a little bit of work (pulling) to get the left side lower bolt to go into the frame, but overall, I am pleased. Haven't crashed (again) with this new sub-frame, so I cannot comment on it's durability.

Best bag for your buck.
I had bent my sub, and did some shopping around. By far this is a great deal. Everything lined up pretty close. 1st time putting it on had to work it a little, now comes on and off no problems. If you run into this problem save yourself 200-300 dollars and pick this up. Can't belive how much they wanted for the OEM.

Don't believe the Hype
I've read many articles about this thing before I purchased it. Motosport was awesome with getting it to me right away, but when I got it the mount that holds the Gas Tank was broken off. About 3-4 rides in I took a small crash on a track in a turn that was over watered, when I got back up it was bent. I wasn't even going very fast maybe 30-35. The threads strip out too easy, they didn't plan ahead and put steal threads in like the stock one, so I did myself. After using this thing for a couple of months I ended up going back to the stock one because it's much better made. Like the title says, Don't Believe they Hype. These things are Junk.

Is this frame ment for dual slip ons or a single, and will a FMF Ti4 slip on fit?

This is an OEM replacement subframe. It is designed to replace the stock subframe and accept the same exhausts the stock subframe would. This will not be dual exhaust compatible as the 2009 CRF250r did not come with, and was not designed to use dual exhaust. Any exhaust designed to fit the 2009 CRF250r will work this subframe, including FMF.

Question?
i have a 04crf250r and want to put dual exhaust on it. can i buy the 06 subframe and numberplates and make that work for my bike?
MotoSport Staff

They changed a lot of things from 04-06. The air box is different, the side panels, and the sub frame are all different so I wouldn't recommend trying it. It will probably turn out to be more work than it's worth.

This will not include any hardware, you must have your stock bolts to mount.

No fasteners included. You will need to re-use the existing bolts.
