D.I.D 520 ERT2 Gold Chain - 120 Links:

The D.I.D ERT2 chain is the most trusted chain in Supercross and motocross racing because of its reputation of meeting the high quality demands that are required when pushing the limits. It was designed with the intention of making a chain that is optimized for the purpose of racing. D.I.D beefed up the ERT2 chain by increasing the pin size by 3% to give the chain an average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds. Increasing the strength of the ERT2 chain did not come with a sacrifice of weight, in fact DID was able to shed 5% from the previous ERT chain.

D.I.D 520 ERV3 X-Ring Chain - 120 Links:

The D.I.D ERV3 X-ring chain is the ultimate high-performance, lightweight, low-friction race chain available and is used extensively by many off-road race teams. The ERV3 X-ring chain utilizes D.I.D's patented X-ring technology which reduces friction by 50% over standard O-ring chains for minimized power loss. The pins on the ERV3 X-ring chain have been put through a patented heat-treatment process to produce a pin that is 1.5 times harder than conventional pins. The result is a chain that is significantly stronger and offers better wear resistance than many other chains on the market. D.I.D ERV3 X-ring chains feature a gold-plated finish that resists rust and adds a little style to your motorcycle or ATV.

Renthal 520 R1 Gold Race Chain - 120 Links:

Renthal's R1 Works Chain is a high-strength non O-ring chain with excellent impact load resistance designed specifically to withstand the stress found in off-road applications. This chain is the choice where a combination of high strength, light weight and maximum power transfer are important considerations.

  • Shot-peened alloy steel side plates for high tensile strength and maximum impact load resistance.
  • Chamfered inner links to reduce the chance of chain derailment.
  • Extended bushings to reduce friction between outer and inner link plates, maximizing power output.
  • Chromized bearing pins for excellent resistance to wear.
  • Gold color side plates help prevent corrosion.
  • Most perfectly matched chain for Renthal sprockets allowing maximum power at the rear wheel. This also extends the life of both the chain and sprockets.
  • Average tensile strength of 7,644 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 300.
  • Maximum displacement (street / off-road): N/A / 500cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 2.13 pounds.
  • Each chain includes master link and a pair of latex gloves for mess free installation.
  • 120 links.
  • Note: Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Renthal 520 R3 O-Ring Chain - 120 Links:

Renthal's R3-2 O-ring Chain is a high-strength sealed-ring chain with excellent impact load resistance designed specifically to withstand the stress found in off-road applications where an O-ring chain is desired. This chain is the choice where a combination of high strength, light weight and maximum power transfer are important considerations. The O-rings help extend chain life by retaining the special vacuum-injected grease near the critical pin area. Chain comes pre-stretched to shorten break-in period.

  • Nitrile O-rings extend chain life by retaining special vacuum-injected grease inside the chain joint.
  • Shot-peened alloy steel side plates for high tensile strength and maximum impact load resistance.
  • High-carbon alloy steel bearing pins for excellent resistance to wear.
  • Gold colored side plates help prevent corrosion.
  • Pre-stretched to enhance performance of the chain.
  • Available in 520 pitch only.
  • Average tensile strength of 7,644 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 750.
  • Maximum displacement (street / off-road): N/A / 500cc.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 3.36 pounds.
  • Each chain includes a pair of latex gloves for mess free installation.
  • 120 links.
  • Note: The Renthal R3-2 chain is supplied with both an easy-fit split master link and a superior solid-pin rivet master link which matches the durability of the chain.

Note for installing X-ring chains: As X-ring chains are wider than standard roller chains, when fitting an X-ring chain to a motorcycle that was fitted with a non O-ring chain as original equipment, it is essential to check that there is proper clearance of the engine cases near the countershaft sprocket and any other places of close contact. Failure to do so could result in damage to the chain and motorcycle and could ultimately cause the chain to fail.

I bought this chain/sprocket set to replace the stock setup on my dvx400 and, for the price, it can't be beat. I recommend this to any average rider who isn't looking for peak performance in racing.

Turner sprocket kit
Wish I was home now so I am able to ride more!! But this product is really good if you are not worried about weight and not having the bling like the more expensive sprockets! So far it has no sign of wear and appears like it will last for sometime. I would buy this combo again when the time comes!

Can't get any stronger than steel sprockets. Unfortunately we didn't keep the bike very long after putting these on so I can't know how long they lasted. They fit perfect and there were no problems that I could find.

What chain do i need with a 12 front and 41 rear ?
MotoSport Staff
1 month 27 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
As long as you don't have an extended swingarm any of the chains will work. With that gearing on a Raptor 660 any of the chains will need to be cut to length as they come in standard bulk lengths of 100, 110, and 120. For your application I would recommend the DID ATV X-ring chain. It is specifically designed for the atvs and being an X-ring chain, will last longer than the other models.

What size chaine would i need if i put a 41t sproket on my 01 yamaha warrior?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
hard to say exactly, you didn't list out what your putting on the front. Basically all the chains we sell are going to be cut at 110-120 links so most likely you will have to remove some links

I have a 2004 kx250 what exactly do i need? What size sprokets and Chains?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
stock gearing was 13-49 and 114 links on the chain. Verify to make sure your bike is still running stock though if that's what you want to keep.
jtrockey Over 3 years ago
Do I need any tools to change the chain and sprokets? If so do you carry it?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
It's pretty straight forward, no special tools really required. To make fitting the chain simpler, you may need a chain breaker, but their are ways around not having one. Basically, if you can remove your rear wheel, you should have the tools to replace your sprockets.
