Does less or more teeth on the spocket gear atv higher on front?
and what size do i need the rear to be

if you go up in the front it's giving you more bottom end, if you go up it's giving you more top end. On the rear if you go down in teeth it gives you more top end, and going up gives you more bottom end. It's hard to recommend gearing for you because I dont know your riding style, but keep in mind gearing is a win lose situation. If you want more top end, your going to lose some bottom end and if you want more bottom end, your going to lose your top end. It's all about experimenting.

more teeth teeth on the front sprocket should make your bike have a higher top speed, on the other hand it will get to its top speed at a slower rate. A larger sprocket in the rear will make your bikes top speed lower but your bike will reach the top at a speed faster rate. if you begin to search on the website for sprockets then a small box colored in marigold should pop up and tell you the stock gearing for your vehicle.
Higher gearing ratio is achieved by putting a larger gear on the front or a smaller gear in the rear doing this for a given rpm should raise your mph over the stock settings.(taller) gearing means at 10 mph you will be at 100 rpm but lower (shorter) gearing means you will be at 10 mph at 300 rpm.
imagine a bicyclist pedaling, if he is to stay at 10 mph to win the race he must pedal 100 times per minute to stay at 10 mph with stock gearing. if he were to add teeth to his front sprocket then to go 10 mph now he may only have to pedal 80 times per minute but he must exert more force to achieve the same speed. on the other hand if he were to make the front sprocket smaller he would have to pedal 120 times per minute to go 10 miles per hour but his legs would not use as much force to turn the rear wheel. on the other hand if he makes the rear sprocket larger it has the effect of making him pedal 120 times per minute but with less force than stock, and if his rear sprocket is smaller he must pedal 80 times per minute with more force coming from his legs.
