Product Description

Important note: This oversized piston is 0.020" larger than stock. Please measure your cylinder to check clearance before ordering.

Wiseco leads the performance aftermarket by producing the highest quality forged pistons in the U.S.A. Wiseco is unique because they forge all of their own pistons in-house, and produce all of their own forge tooling in the U.S.A. This allows Wiseco to control all aspects of their manufacturing process from raw bar to skirt coating on the finished parts.

Extreme racing conditions demand the strength and toughness that only forged pistons can offer. Compared to cast pistons, forgings are tougher and more durable, and will stand up to the abuse that high performance motorsport applications require. Most castings are brittle, have no grain structure and tend to fail catastrophically when the material yield strength is exceeded. Forgings have condensed grain that is aligned to the features of the part, which produces higher mechanical properties, and resistance to impact and fatigue. Each forging is designed to optimize the strength-to-weight ratio, and maximize performance.

Wiseco Pro-Lite motorcycle pistons are forged using the highest quality materials available resulting in a piston that provides excellent performance and durability. The Wiseco Pro-Lite piston features a race-ready dome finish with smooth edges for improved combustion flow. The rings, wrist pin, and circlips are manufactured by Wiseco under their strict quality standards to make sure every piston kit fits correctly, ensuring top performance is achieved.

  • Much stronger than stock.
  • Tight tolerances for quiet running.
  • More hours with peak performance between piston changes.
  • All Pro-Lite pistons include rings, wrist pin and circlips.

please specify the type of bike you have, that way I don't have to search through a zillion wiseco part numbers.

Stock 01 cr250 cylinder cannot be bored out due to speacial coating, how can this be 0.20 over and still fit?

Over 4 years ago Location: Por+land
Even though that cylinder has a nikasil coating it can be bored out. After boring the cylinder you will have to get it re-coated with nikasil in order to run this piston safely. Thats why and how this piston is offered.

Metal On Metal creates wear and can "Bore" out the cylinder and in order to have a good fit a slight oversize can be needed look at different Piston Makers for the one that will fit your bike and needs. I usually recommend taking the cylinder to a machine shop to have them de-glaze and hone the cylinder for optimum performance and they can give you the exact size of piston you will need when they are done and it makes the motor perform much better and you don't seize pistons!

How many rings does this piston have?
MotoSport Staff Expert
these all should be dual ring pistons.
Over 4 years ago Location: methuen
One ring. Unless your specific motor calls for 2 rings then theyll give you 2 rings. If not then wiseco's pistons are single ring pistons.
Over 3 years ago Location: San Jose, CA
The Wiesco Pro-Lite Pistons typically come with one ring when stock and Pro-X come with dual rings. The single ring produces more power and less sidewall friction but does not last as long.
