Easy with the right tools
I recently installed this bearing kit in the linkage of my 09 kx 450. Overall it was any easy job, but I used a press to remove and install the bearings. In total I took just over an hour, and now my rear suspension is smoother than ever.

Not true needle bearings
These fit fine and are way less expensive than OEM, but they are not true needle bearings. They are straight rollers, the rollers can come right out of the race or cage.. OEM are true needle and cant escape the cage. For the money they are decent but if you want top quality, stick with needle OEM bearings. Tough call..

I bought the all balls linckage bearing kit , I installed it . After frist ride had very bad vibration, I found play in rear swing arm, spend the extra money and buy the pivit works much better parts !! Stay away from all balls its a waste of money

Oh man, you may want to call AllBalls.. Sorry I can't answer your question. If you have ordered parts for that bike and it is in the menu to choose from I would say, yes. I am no XR expert.

Unfortunately I do not even see a listing for US spec 1984 XR500 from All Balls. I also checked with Pivot Works which is another aftermarket bearing kit supplier and they did not list one either. Unfortunately I do not even have specs on non-US models so I am not sure if this would even be the same. Your best bet to ensure you get the the correct parts may be to contact your closest Honda dealership and and see if they can get the parts direct from Honda specific to your bike.
