Product Description

  • Decades of racing development went into the design of the FMF Powercore 4 to improve the power and performance of your dirt bike or ATV at a practical price.
  • The FMF Powercore 4 is a muffler that will boost power and torque throughout the power range, making the Powercore 4 usable for all types of riding.
  • FMF designed a Hi-Flo end cap and core for the Powercore 4 to increase power by creating a free flowing end cap and a core that allows room for exhaust pulse. This results in a consistent power curve.
  • The FMF Powercore 4 uses and advanced cross-weave packing that is more durable then the traditional packing. The cross-weave packing also keeps the Powercore 4 at a reasonable sound level by dissipating the exhaust sound.
  • FMF constructed the Powercore 4 using aluminum to keep the weight down with stainless steel components for extended durability.
  • The FMF Powercore 4 includes a USFS approved spark arrestor.

Just put this on my 05 crf250x yesterday and I must say there is a considerable amount of difference in hp. As always motosport had it to my door in just 2 days, I have ordered quite a bit from this site and never been disappointed I will be back for sure. Along with the megabomb header this pipe is the only way to go without digging a hole in your wallet. Thanks guys from motosport.

The Powercore standing proud on my YZ250F
Location: WA, Australia
Remains first choice for exhausts and mufflers
In my earlier 2 smoker riding years, FMF was the brand of choice... happy to say years on (and a change to 4 stroke), that I am still impressed with their products. As earlier reviewers have claimed, their slip-on is easy to install and (when compared to stock) has a noticeable increase in the lower RPMs. It's fairly meaty sounding, although I would be surprised if it broke the 9x decibel upper limit (yet to check). Can't praise the Powercore 4 enough and have already recommended it to a good friend as my product of choice.

Install questions for 2007 kfx 90 4 stroke?
My son has a kfx 90 the stock pipe and silencer are all one piece .it lists this pipe as a replacement pipe for my bike but does not show any inst instructions. Does it require cutting existing head pipe or will it come with entire head pipe and silencer like the factory one does

For your 2007 KFX90 it would come as a complete system including the head pipe and muffler. You will not have to cut the stock exhaust, this will be a direct bolt on replacement. Keep in mind when installing a full exhaust system, typically the bike will require re-jetting to run properly.

Does this silencer fit the megabomb and powerbomb headers?

Yes, FMF designs their slip-ons to also work with both of their header offerings.

Hello, I have a 05 Yamaha YZF250 that does NOT have fuel injection, will I still have to re-jet?
MotoSport Staff
16 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Jetting will vary based on location, elevation and how your bike is currently jetted. When changing to an aftermarket exhaust, you may need to re-jet based on those factors. To obtain the best jetting recommendation I would call FMF directly @ (310) 631-4363 and they will be able to offer the jetting specs for your 2005 YZ250f with this exhaust. The other option would be to purchase one of their jet kits that includes multiple jets and a jetting guide to help you jet your bike correctly.

Do I need to remove anything to put a fmfq4 pipe on my 2012 wr250r that is stock?
MotoSport Staff
26 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Other than removing the stock muffler to install this, installation would not require you to remove anything. Keep in mind, as with any aftermarket exhaust system, the Fuel Injection will need to be modified with some sort of fuel programer for the bike to run properly. The bike will more than likely run lean once an exhaust is installed.

you will prob have to take off the seat to get the side panel off to remove the old one and put on the new one but other than that i dont think so. hope this helps.

Deos it come with the mid pipe??

Yes, mine did.
MotoSport Staff

It may vary per bike the actual set up of it, but it will include the items to mate it to the stock header for all applications.

fmf pipes dont have mid pipes. the "mid pipe" is built to the can like old 2 strokes. so just header to pipe on fmf will fit stock headers if it has your bike as an option but will not cross with other pipes that have "mid" pipes like p/c. hope that helps.

Is it okay to put this exhaust on a drz 125l ?
its a brand new bike , but ive been wanting to change the exhaust , do i need to buy something else or does it come with everything ?
1 month 3 days ago Location: Wolfforth, TX, USA
Yes,as long as you select the right application when ordering, the main thing you need to be aware of after installation is does the bike pop, backfire, accelerate poorly or run hot? If so you will need to re-jet the carb (larger main jet and possibly pilot jet). Don't run it hot or you will ruin your motor! (recommend you take it to a shop if your not sure how to jet, it can be frustrating till you get the hang of it).

The answer below from Lonewolf was excellent. It will come with everything required except for the jets(if needed) and a new header gasket. If you would like to get a gasket where the exhaust attaches to the cylinder head it can be found here : http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/oem-parts/SUZUKI/2012/DR_Z125/MUFFLER Item # 2 : Part # 14181-18C00

What is the db's for this pipe on a 2007 KTM 250 sxf?
Top 50 Contributor Top 100 Contributor

i think its 98-99 db with the s/a tip in and 100 db w/o.
MotoSport Staff

The dB 's on this pipe will be 98-99 without the quiet core. With the optional quiet core(sold seperately), it will be a 96 db exhaust.

Honda xr250l baja 1995?
hi im from uk and im after a new exhaust fot the above bike, current exhaust still on the bike is original, will this exhasut fit this bike? if not do you recommend one that will? thank you.
1 month 19 days ago Location: Wolfforth, TX, USA
As long as you select the right info on the application i.e. make, tear, and model, you should be fine.
MotoSport Staff
1 month 7 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Your 1995 XR250 baja looks like it was the same as the 1996 XR250R sold in the US. Unfortunately I do not have specifications for European models so you may want to call FMF directly to see if they can confirm what will fit your bike exactly.

Will my stock header work with this exhaust?
I have an 08' CRF 450X and was wondering if my stock header is compatable with the Powercore 4 exhaust?

2 months ago Location: Spokane, WA, USA
yep if they make a can for your bike the stock or fmf header will fit
MotoSport Staff
1 month 27 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Yes this item is designed to fit perfectly on the stock header of your 2008 CRF450X. Keep in mind jetting may be required to achieve a properly running bike. Just make sure to profile your bike correctly if you decide to order, to make you receive the correct exhaust for your model.
