Broken First Moto

Installed the springs using the FMF Spring Puller (Great tool) and the broke during my first moto at the track. The hook parts on the ends are the weak points. I found one spring dangling from my case with the opposite hook completely missing. '04 KX250

PURCHASED THIS KIT FOR MY SONS KAWASAKI KX 85. THE O RINGS FIT PERFECTLY BUT THE SPRINGS WERE TO SHORT SO I SAVED THEM FOR MY HONDA

I purchased for a 2004 RM250 but the springs were too short... they stretched out to the point of no return... also it only comes w/1 o-ring, its not the dual style like the pic. shows

FMF O-Ring and Springs

These fit good and last as long as can be expected. I have never had a spring break on me.

Good product

I thought the springs were good and tight, but i thought the o rings i got in my top end Athena kit were a little thicker.

From looking at the OEM diagrams for your 2004 Honda CR125 I can see that it actually does not use this style O-Ring Set up. It uses a larger exhaust seal ring. It does use springs but FMF does not have a kit with just the springs for your bike. I would recommend ordering the Honda OEM Seal and Springs. You would need: Honda OEM #91304-KZ4-L11 (seal), Honda OEM #18332-KS7-830 (springs). You would want to order 1 seal and 2 springs. [ Here is a link to the page that shows the seal at the cylinder head: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/oem-parts/HONDA/2004/CR125/CYLINDER-HEAD-%28'04%29 ]

Yes, just make sure to profile your bikes make, model and year correctly.

A must or does it matter?
I have a 2000 yz250 and you can see the smoke sometimes comes out and leaks a bit out of where the pipe meets the cylinder. i was wondering if this would drag down hp?? I have weak springs and no o rings

Your bike uses a rubber gasket type flange to seal the pipe to the motor. FMF does not replicate this gasket and that is why they don't offer this pipe o-ring spring kits.

Will these seals work on a 2002 cr250. for a fmf fatty thanks?

no FMF does not offer the spring/o-ring combo for that bike, you would need to purchase the o-ring from Honda and we have either OEM or aftermarket springs.

Will this kit work for attaching a Pro Circuit Pipe as well as a FMF?

Yes these will work on any pipe.
Over 5 years ago Location: East Texas
Actually ... no. Once I received the kit I found that the springs are too long and will not keep the pipe in place. I had to reuse the old springs until I can get some replacements that fit. The O-rings work great.

Is this required or reccomended to replace a 2002 rm250 stock exhaust with a fmf sst?
MotoSport Staff
Over 5 years ago Location: Portland, OR
It's not required but if you are putting on a new exhaust you might as well put fresh o-rings and springs on.
