New tires for the old CR
Found new tires for the CR250 and the Michelin prices were the best anywhere. Only issue was they number them differently than other brands so was a little confused when I got them Called and they straightened me out :-) Arrived super quick and with free shipping. Doesn't get much better....

Long term testing
About 7 years ago I tried a set of S-12's at the recommendation of a friend. I replaced a set of OEM Dunlops on my 250X. I primarily ride Michigan's tight, twisty, technical sand single tracks. These tires added a level of confidence I'd lost due to the Dunlops. I went up one size from the recommended in the rear to a 120/80x18 to suit my riding style. Other than a tendency to shed knobs when running in rocks and roots when running low (sand) pressures the handling is impressive. After 7 years it remains my tire of choice.

Good Tire
First thing that is important abput these tires is that you need to check michelins website for the correct tires size because the sizes of these tires are a little different than others. the tires themselves work great. the rear tire is better than the front by far. the rear hooks up on everything from solid rock to roots and mud. the front tire is okay but it's not confidence inspiring. make sure your in a good rut or have plenty of traction because the front end tends to slide out. i think i am going to try the Maxxis SI tires next. they seem to work great every where.

Grip AND Longevity!
I've sworn by these tires since I started using them. Everytime I try something else, I regret it. I have used the S12XC on my KTM450 and YZ125, front and back. I'm 160lbs (without gear), ride A Open, and use 12psi front, 10psi rear. I've found at my weight and speed, those pressures provide excellent compromise between grip and flat protection. Only 1 rear flat in 3 years of racing hare scrambles/enduros. (50-something races). No front flats at all. These tires HOLD UP!! Last weekend, at Boogieville hare scramble in Uniontown, AR we saw some of the rockiest terrain out there. Going in with a new set of S12XC's, I had comments on how my tires looked brand new AFTER the 2 hour race! And they almost did :) Front - NO Chunking. Rear, could just barely tell it was used.

Amazing!
This is the third set of the Michelin "sand" tires that I have purchased. Unbelievable traction!!! We ride in all kinds of conditions, but even on the rocky hard pack these hook up well. My Suzuki DRZ400E and RM250 (2-stroke) as well as my Honda CRF450R all love these tires. Rodger DeCoster says that the best way to spend $100 is to buy a new tire, I agree 100%. Tthe added control from the increased traction is more valuable than a new cam, exhaust, piston............. Most of our bikes have more power than we can use, put your $ into new tires, and enjoy the control. BUT, they should come with decals!
