LOOKS GREAT BUT REQUIRES MAINTENANCE.
INSTALLED THIS PIPE ON MY 2000 CR 500. ONLY OTHER PIPE OFFERED FOR THIS BIKE IS THE FMF GNARLY. WAS NOT INTERESTED IN LOW END INSANE POWER. WAS A VERY TIGHT FIT. EVEN HAD TO REPOSITION THE HOSE CLAMPS ON COOLING LINES FOR IT TO FIT. DEFINATE PERFORMANCE UPGRADE OPPOSED TO THE STOCK PIPE. THIS PIPE LOOKS LIKE CHROME OPPOSED TO THE SAME PIPE FOR MY KX500, BUT IS VERY DELICATE. KEEP IT CLEAN OR IT WILL RUST BIG TIME.

Excellent quality
Had a competitors product on the ride for ten years and bought another from them and found the quality of manufacture was a lot worse than before, wouldn't even fit and the welds and construction were poor. Returned it and got this, it is a work of art compared to the other brand . Don't have a dyno but seems to have more mid range torque and over rev. I just wish they could get rid of the rust inside before shipping them out.

Review
I thought at first this was just a lot of junk when people said when u get the combo it would improve performance. ha, i tried it out and i was extremely pleased with both the Platinum and the 304 Fact sound, If you have a 2 stroke, get both, dont get a slip on. but it does need jetting, still. really happy about this product! :) but bad thing was, it took a while for them to analyze the products out of their vendors. but the wait was worth it! and plus it has a great shine on the platinum! :)

Works Well...
Seems to work well, but make sure you dont touch it with anything, it dents really easily. Also for anyone with the '03 who cant find one for you bike, buy the '04, it'll fit. Be sure to jet to Pro Circuit's specs, your bike will run really rich if you don't.

Pro circuit platinum pipe
I bought a 2002 Pro Circuit Platinum Pipe for a cr250r in 2011 and it looked great. But the inside of the pipe was rusted I'm sure this wouldn't effect the performance but I still would have wished it was Perfectly clean inside.

Thank you for the pictures, they are helping out a lot in this situation. We have something very weird going on here, it definitely has an older fuel tank on it from about 1987. It has newer inverted forks on it. I cant tell exactly what year motor we are working with though. For this one you will need to get the engine number off of the left side of the motor and call your local Yamaha dealer and have them run that to determine exactly what year this is. Until then I do not know which exhaust you are going to need.

Bying exhausts?
So im about to buy new exhaust system for my kawasaki kx 250 1993. Can i buy 1996 Pro circuit platinum pipe model and 1999 pro circuit shorty silencer in my bike, does it fit or do you know what years will fit on my bike. Cos u dont have any exhaust in stock for 1993model. Or can i buy 1993 pro circuit platinum pipe and 1999 pro circuit shorty silencer?
MotoSport Staff

For your 1993 KX250 the only year exhausts that will fit are 1992-1993 model exhausts. The others may fit with modification but will not be a direct bolt on.

Can i buy Pro circuit Platinum Pipe 2-Stroke for kawasaki kx 250 1993?
And put pro circuit shorty silencer 1999 model for that pipe. For a little bit tuning or will it fit normally?

Unfortunately Pro Circuit is not offering the Platinum 2 pipe or Shorty silencer for your model. They do offer the standard Platinum Pipe and the 304 Factory sound silencer.

Whats the difference?
Whats the difference between the fmf fatty and the pro circuit platinum pipe what can i exspect as far as power gain and where bottom mid or topend thanks for info?
both the fatty and the platinum are essentially top end favored- race pipes where the gnarly and platinum 2 are bottom end pipes. From personal experience i have always favored the pro circuit pipe because it very noticeably increases both bottom and top end

Is this a good trail pipe?
i do a lot of trail riding and my rm doesnt really have a lot of bottom end torque i figured this might help it out

This is a good pipe, but if you're looking for a little more bottom end, id suggest to see if the Pro Circuit Platinum 2 pipe is available for your bike. If you primarily ride trails, i would also suggest looking at fly wheel weights. These will help with low end. http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/SFB-FLYWHEEL-WEIGHT-5-OZ/?catalogId=106090

I use this pipe for desert and trail riding and it has been awesome both with top and bottom end power. If you want the best results, get a pro circuit pipe and a flywheel to your desired performance needs and you have an unbeatable setup.

Does this make alot of diffrence on cr 80s?
Expert MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: USA
compared to the stock/oem exhaust, yes this will make a huge difference.

Yes it does. Stock pipes on the 80's are well manufactured, but the PC pipe is lighter and will give you a slight power gain.
