Product Description

The Excel Takasago aluminum alloy rim is the benchmark in off-road racing rim technology. Every Excel Motocross rim is engineered and designed to perform in extreme hostile environments where other rims routinely fail. Fact, Excel has won more Motocross and off-road championships - worldwide - than all competitors combined! Part of the secret is in Excel's exclusive 7000 series aluminum alloy which has a 50% higher yield strength than the competitor's 6 series aluminum. Also, the exclusive know-how in extrusion design, complex multi-step forming, advanced robotics welding, and in hard anodizing such a tough and complex material is key to Excel's strength and world market dominance.

  • Aluminum alloy which has a 50% higher yield strength than other aluminum rims.
  • Excel MX rims are the choice of all Factory Works and Privateer Teams worldwide.

This rim looks great and is the best quality aluminum. The silver rim looks like oem but a lot better quality. Keep it tight and true and it will last. The only rim to buy.

A MUST FOR A WOODS BIKE.

RECENTLY CHANGED MY REAR RIM ON MY YZ250F FROM 19" TO 18". WHAT A HUGE DIFFERENCE, THE BIKE CAN TAKE MOST ANY ROCK OR BUMP IN THE WOODS AND STILL NOT KICK OUT ON ME. AND RELACING A RIM IS SUPER EASY. JUST DONT BE CHEAP ON THE SPOKES. GET THE EXCEL PRO. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RIM AND SPOKE SET TO EVERYONE THATS THINKING ABOUT CHANGING REAR RIM SIZE.

Got the black Excells for my CRF 450R. Only thing I did not like is the Excell logo on the wheels started flaking off after the first wash.

Worth the money

Good meaty chunk of aluminum, doesnt feel under built. Laced and trued easily. These rims have always been very durable in rocks, roots and logs. This rim is proving to be the same.

Looks sick

This was my first wheel ive ever laced up. I used the excel spoke kit. It would have been easy if i knew the longer spokes go in the holes closest the the axle hole (the outside holes). Other than that it laced up easy and is pretty true. The spokes stayed tight after riding a track for 2+ hrs. Im happy with the wheel and it looks really good!

Yes, According to Excel's fitment Chart ( http://www.rkexcelamerica.com/mx_excel_rims_spokes.html ) the 19" Rear Rims for your '05 Honda CRF450R would be compatible with the OEM Spokes and Spoke Nipples.

What width rim is this? 2.15 or 1.85?
MotoSport Staff Expert
3 months 9 days ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
That would really depend on what motorcycle it would be for. The wheel would be the same width as your original OEM wheel.

For this custom application, it would be recommended to speak directly with a wheel company such as Dubya USA or Buchanan's Spoke and Rim. These companies will be able to assist you in getting the correct rim and spokes you require.

Do I have clearance enough to fit a 19 x 2.15 size of one of these on a 1999 KX 250? If I do, can I get that instead of the 19 x 1.85 stock spec size?
I am thinking of ordering both front and back Excel rims from you guys, just want to be sure that the 19 x 2.15 will fit fine on the rear using a Dunlop Geomax 120/80-19 tire...
MotoSport Staff
Over 7 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
Yes it will fit, the 19 x 2.15 is actually the correct rim for your 1999 KX250. 1.85 rim was designed for the 125.

How many spoke holes does this rim have? My stock has 32 but i bought an aftermarket hub with 36 and theres no dropdown menu to choose 32 or 36?
MotoSport Staff
Over 8 months ago Location: Portland, OR, USA
The rim which you will need will depend on what hub you have. If you can give us a call and discuss what hub you have, we are more than happy to help get the rim that will be compatible with it.

2009 KX450F rear. or can i use the stock ones on the bike?
MotoSport Staff

For your 2009 KX450f you can re-use your stock spokes or use the Excel spokes. They will both work for that model.

How many spoke holes does it have?
i have an 05 crf 450r but im running talon hubs on it. these hubs run a 36 spoke set up over the stock 32 hole set up. i was wondering if you carry rims with 36 spoke holes and the 36 spoke kits
MotoSport Staff
Over 4 years ago Location: Tualatin
these are the stock replacements with the 32 holes. we do not carry but can definitely order you the 36 hole rim and spoke kit for the Talon wheel, just give us a call at 888.676.8853. Just be sure to let us know it is for the Talon wheel.
