Works as it should
This silencer really works good i was going to get a shorty but I decided to go with the powercore2 because I do more woods riding. I love it because it made my power band on my KTM more snappy with out being to much for the woods.

Used as a replacement for stock
The stock exhaust on my sons PW50 was damaged and I replaced it with this aftermarket silencer. No power gains since I only have the silencer. I do plan on getting the fatty pipe but this silencer fits well with the stock header.

Power Improved
This really smoothed out the power and response on a 1997 RM250, and it also added a little more power...HIGHLY RECOMMEND

2002 CR250 Excellent Fit
Great aftermarket silencer. Sounds beautiful! I installed with with a new Fatty pipe and got a great power increase across the power band. The rear-most attaching bracket rubs a little on the rear fender, but other than that, absolutely perfect fit.

I Installed the Power core 2 on my Rm 125 because I already had a fmf pipe and I needed to match. I got the regular one because I felt like the shorty's were too loud and I was concerned about loosing top. Not expecting much of a difference I was actually pleasantly surprised when I noticed a small gain in the Mid / Bottom and no noticeable loss of top / overrev. The power core 2 is about an inch shorter overall then the stock muffler, just FYI, and has a sweet exhaust note. Not to Raspy and loud. BRRAAAAPP.

The FMF Shorty pipe is a good race pipe. If you're looking for a cheap pipe and dont mind it being loud this would be a good pipe for you. Also i would suggest getting it tuned as far as jetting goes with the pipe. You can go without it and be fine but you won't be running nearly any back pressure. Thats the reason why i didnt give it 5 stars. If you jet your bike right you shouldn't have a problem with the "lag" i got up top in the rev range. Again, this is a loud pipe. It isn't insane if you keep fresh packing foam in it but if your not up for replacing it, it will sound like you have a can as a slip on. Loud, Raspy, and obnoxious. With the packing foam it sounds great though!! Wouldnt recommend it for woods riding. Good for MX.

Instant Power
Silencer is the second best invest on my bike besides the Fatty pipe, nothing has more Bolt on power. Bored the bike to a 300cc, then added the silencer and it felt like it got bored out even more. Instant power and a quicker throttle response. I also have a turbine core i use when we ride where they are required but would reccommend the Powercore 2 over it. The power core gives a little more power, and sound great. not as loud as the shorty, but not as quiet as the turbine core, its an overall great investment to your bike.

She'll do.
Pretty good product, doesnt look sweet from the side because its to small to see but other than that its amazing, although not pro circuit quality.

Yes this would be a good silencer for your 2011 KTM50. It will bolt right and and can you can use it with your stock pipe. It will not add an incredible amount of power, but you will gain some power and it will have better throttle response too. There should be no need to re-jet either, if the bike is currently jetted properly.

What accessories come with this silencer?
MotoSport Staff

This Silencer doesn't have any accessories included. Some models may have a rubber grommet supplied where it mounts, but most typically use the original hardware and rubber mounts.

Is this more silent than a stock pipe?
MotoSport Staff

since I don't know what model you are putting it on I can't tell you for sure, but most likely not. If you want something quieter than stock you would want to look at either a "Q" or a spark arrested silencer.

Do I have o re-jet my carb if I bought just this silencer with no pipe?
MotoSport Staff
Over 3 years ago Location: P+RTLAND
Normally with just a slip on you really dont need to touch the jetting, but it really depends on the mods you already have done to your bike and also where you are located. The best thing to do is install the pipe and then check the plug for any signs of needed jetting changes.

No, you should be fine. If it boggs out then buy some but you shouldn't have any problems

Does this have a spark arrestor?
I want to know if this pipe has a spark arrestor in it or not. If not what pipe should i get that does have one? Doesn't have to be fmf, could be pro circuit but i want one with a spark arrestor that gives a good amount of power.
No, it does not have a spark arrestor. If you would like a spark arrestor you should go with the FMF Turbinecore 2 or the Pro Circuit Spark Arrestor silencer FMF link: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/FMF-TURBINECORE-2-SPARK-ARRESTOR-SILENCER-2STROKE/?prodId=71132& Pro Circuit link: http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/PRO-CIRCUIT-SPARK-ARRESTOR-SILENCER/?prodId=49439&

Exhaust Comparison?
I am a woods rider so I want to know the better exhaust between the shorty and the Powercore2 which is a better pipe for my style and I have the gold series fatty so with the shorty on it but its broke so I am lookin for a new tip anyway. I would just like a quick comparison.
Over 3 years ago Location: Langdon, ND
Supposedly the Shorty offers slightly more low end grunt, which would make it better for trails. Thats why I run a Shorty on my bike for trails and harescrambles.

If I bought the FMF powercore silencer 2 or a turbinecore 2 spark arrestor, would if fit perfectly on a FMF gold series fatty?

I guess it depends on the bike, Normally with bigger bikes you shouldn't have any problem.
