Have worked so far.
Most of my riding is through trees and brush. So far I haven't had any issues yet. You will need an extension to install these! I had to dremel some of support plastic off my stock shrouds (05 KX250) to make them fit. Instructions are decent.

That was easy! (2005 CRF250R)
After two busted radiators from woods racing, I finally put these on. They go on easy and look great. They feel like they can take a beating and are braced well. Just read the instructions well, take your time, and they will go on without any problems. They will replace the plastic louvers (stock).

Great But...
I wouldn't recommend buying the guards if your radiators are already bent. It went from a 5 minute Job to a 2 hour installation just because mine were already bent before i put them on. Once they were on, looked great and are very strong

Harescramble must-have
A little difficult to install but once it's on you'll never want to ride the woods without one. Much more durable than louvers and they can take a beating. This is a harescramble must-have!

These are intended to be used with the bike's stock radiators. Depending on the type or style of oversized radiators you have- they may not fit.

what the best equipment to get the best protection of the radiator. Devol radiator guards, WORKS CONNECTION RADIATOR BRACES or both. Can I install both on my CRF450X 2009 or is it unnecessary?

Devol comes with the braces I believe. Check with them to make sure they do for your bike. They are a bit of work to install and may require some spacers to get the plastic shrouds back on without cutting or grinding. It's a solid brace and offers good protection, except if you throw your bike off a cliff or out of an airplane. :o)

some do and some don't it just depends on which model it is and unfortunately Devol doesn't have a list on which ones do or don't. as long as the aftermarket radiator you are looking at isn't too much deeper than the stock radiator it will work just fine.

These are Bike Specific parts. Years for the same model may cross over, but that's it.

Out of the box they will not mount, but I've heard of people mounting them with radiator braces before. You will need to do some engineering if this was something you wanted to do.

Looks like we only stock them for the "R" model. The "R" and the "X" ran the same guards up to 07 but they must have changed something in 08 on the "X" model because Devol doesn't have a listing for the 08 CRF250X

How sturdy are they when you crash?

They hold up pretty good depending on how hard of a crash you take. They are mainly there to help reduce the damage but if they take a hard direct impact there is no guarantees that your radiator wont get tweaked.
