Must have if you run a DID 520 VX2 X-Ring chain

This master link is a RIVET STYLE link. You must have a rivet tool to install it on the chain. Links are proprietary to the brand and model of chain you have. Please check yours before you order it.

A: No, you will need to go with the master link specific to the DID 520 VT2 Narrow Enduro Racing X-Ring Chain. If you could give us a call at 888-676-8853 we would be happy to get you a replacement master link.

Q: VX2 Compatibility?
2 years 1 month ago
I put on a brand new 520 vm gold chain but unknowingly pinched/ruined a x ring when installing the rivet master link. I bought a 520 vx2 rivet link and wanted to confirm it is compatible before starting, (as the vx2 is the updated chain from the DID vm x-chain). Is the vx2 compatible to the vm? Thanks,

A: No. Connecting Links are NOT compatible between the new VX and the former V and VM series chains

Q: Master link for DID 520 VD chain?
2 years 11 months ago
I have a 2008 Honda Tornado XR250 (Brazilian) which needs a change of chain and sprockets. I was able to buy the original stock sprockets and the chain recommended in the manual which is a DID 520 VD, but find that the chain length should be 104 links and the one I bought is longer, so I need to shorten it (This is an O-ring chain by the way). The problem is I can't find a master link for this chain (the Honda dealer for some reason doesn't sell them- this is in Honduras) and I was wondering if a DID 520 VX2 X-ring master link will work on the chain I bought. Please advice as I am planning on doing this myself (I am mechanically oriented and love to work on my own stuff - I'll be buying a chain tool when I order the master links). I only ask this because this is the first time I need to change the chain, but I do all other maintenance on the bike myself (oil changes, brake pads, etc). Thank you.

A: Unfortunately, this is a spec chain that we do not have available here in the US. I am unfamiliar with it and do not have any specifications. I was only able to find it being sold in South America. It looks like you may need to order a couple different styles of DID master links and see if one can match up.

Q: DID 520 VX2 X-Ring?
I have a new Ktm 500 exc that I want to re gear with 5 extra teeth on the rear sproket with a DID 520 VX2 X-Ring chain . I need 4 or 5 extra links. Do your sale individual links? Thanks

A: Unfortunately individual links are not for sale. With a gearing change that large you will need to purchase a new chain. Also it is not recommend to add additional master links to the chain as they are the weakest portion of the chain. By adding additional links you greatly reduce the strength and reliability of the chain.
