D.I.D is the number one motorcycle chain in the world. D.I.D chains are used by factory races teams from all manufacturers in race series everywhere.

The D.I.D ERT2 chain is the most trusted chain in Supercross and motocross racing because of its reputation of meeting the high quality demands that are required when pushing the limits. It was designed with the intention of making a chain that is optimized for the purpose of racing. D.I.D beefed up the ERT2 chain by increasing the pin size by 3% to give the chain an average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds. Increasing the strength of the ERT2 chain did not come with a sacrifice of weight, in fact DID was able to shed 5% from the previous ERT chain.

  • Exclusively designed for motorcycle racing.
  • High-performance, lightweight and low friction chain.
  • 3% bigger pin diameter and 5% lighter than former ERT.
  • Provides the highest wear resistance, tensile strength and impact resistance.
  • Average tensile strength of 8,100 pounds.
  • Wear life index: 430.
  • Rated for up to a 450cc motocross bike.
  • Weight (per 100 links): 2.99 pounds.
  • Includes a clip-style master link.
  • 120 links.
  • Notes: ERT and ERT2 Connecting Links are not interchangeable. Non-sealed chains require more regular maintenance than sealed (O-ring, X-ring) versions and are mainly recommended for off-road use.

Best Non Oring chain

The ERT-2 holds up longer than any other chain I have tried I am using it on a a 300cc two stroke and it is the perfect application. The plating holds up great and looks great as well. When an O ring chain has a little too much drag for your application this is your chain.

Best Chain On The Market

I put this chain on new pro taper sprockets. They fit extremely well together with no slap in the chain. I've had two races on them and everything is still tight and perfect. The gold also adds a great look to the bike.

Chain eating monster!

I have a 450 that eats cheap chains so I spent a bit more on this one. So far no kinks or binding after about 3 hours and 3 slack adjustments. It's good so far and alot better than the bargain chains.

No we do not cut the chains before shipping. We do carry chain breakers or if you have a grinder you can grid the head of the pin off and pull the chain apart.

Are all DID ERT-2 chains gold?
On this website http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/product/DID-520-ERT2-GOLD-CHAIN-120-LINKS/?catalogId=101393 it says DID 520 ERT-2 120L. Is that chain still gold or not? Thanks

Is the ERT2 compatible with 450fs?
The reason I ask is that DID's website says that it's for max CC of 250 but I see some guys here using it for 450s. Can some clarify this at all?

Yes, this chain will work just fine for your 450. It's rated at 8100 lbs. and is without a doubt stronger that the OEM chain your bike came with. Check the D.I.D. website for more specific information on their chains if you need to but you won't be disappointed with it's performance. Also, keep in mind that this is a NON-SEALED chain meaning it has no O-rings as most factory chains are sealed these days. It will require more maintenance than a sealed chain but will have less drag meaning more power to the wheels!

No, the gold will still rust if you dont take care of it. I race GNCC and I always run a X-ring chain. It is a little heavier but you dont have to adjust it very often.

I have the ERT2 on my 2012 CRF 450 and I would say go for something with an O-ring or X-ring. They last much longer. For hare scramble abuse I would not use a non O-ring chain. My recommendation would be the D.I.D VX2 or Renthal R3
