Tim McCool and Ken Boyko snaked together their company in the early 80s manufacturing high performance and replacement ATV exhaust systems. Cobra established itself as an industry leader and quickly expanded, first with the very successful Sparky brand spark arrestors. The F1 slip-on soon followed and gained traction thanks to its ease of installation.

In the early 1990s, Cobra started a tradition of showcasing a custom built motorcycle at the annual dealer show. Today, Cobra is a leading manufacturer of cruiser performance parts and accessories. Cobra proudly manufactures all products in the USA in an 85,000 square-foot facility in Yorba Linda, CA.
