Exactly what I needed for Hare scrambles
The wrap was easy to install. works good and the Hi temp paint makes a nice finish. Would recommend you buy your own stainless steel hose clamps. Size of clamps is depending on your exhaust.

I was skeptical about using this product , I read the reviews and decided to actually follow the instructions!!!!!! I'm glad I did because this stuff works GREAT!!!! the differance on my Kawi 450R from almost burning my leg to being able to ride with shorts on was amazing. It really is not that hard to apply when you follow the directions...I wet the tape , wrapped it tight and banded it, let it dry, then used the black spray silicone paint. All my friends thought I had it done by a shop, it was that good.....Thanks MOTOSPORT...Good products, good prices and GREAT SERVICE!!!!!

this type of wrap does just what it is suppose to do in deflecting the exhaust heat away from my right leg. highly recomended!! it also has several stainless clamps that will not come off under any condition.

How much tap is needed?
I am wanting to wrap my head pipes on my '03 HD touring bike. I have a Bassani RR 2-1 on it now and that I want to wrap. Is 15' enough for each pipe? How do I know how much wrap to get? thanks.

Unfortunately we don't have any listings from DEI on how much exhaust tape is required for each exhaust system out there.

Some say this damages your pipe by overheating it,is that true?

Theirs actually a debate about how this wrap can reduce the amount of heat your exhaust puts off, so it doesn't transfer to the motor (ie. carb, fuel tank). The more you can defer the heat away from the bike, the more efficient the motor will run. Kind of the same as wrapping the bottom of your gas tank with aluminum heat shield so the fuel stays cooler.

4 stroke header pipes get extremely hot under normal use, so I doubt this would cause to get not enough to actually damage it. This is partially designed to prevent from burning you, your gear and the plastics on your bike. Also, the exhaust can flow better if the heat stays in instead of cooling as it flows out.

What are the locking ties for?

Locking ties are just a metal wires that you use to close the exhaust wrapping up against the pipe (or what ever it is your wrapping). They secure the wrapping so it doesn't come unraveled.

The ties are to secure the ends of the wrap to keep it from coming off. They are stainless steell so they won't be affected by the high heat. You have to use those to keep the wrap in place.

This insulates the pipe and would help protecting you from burns. Some say it helps with the overall performance of the motor, by keeping it cooler.

It seals the exhaust wrap so that it does not absorb oil and moisture.

It seals the wrapping material to make it more durable. The wrap won't last forever as it is, so the spray kind of seals it and makes it last longer.
