Are these 15 channels, the same as a CB radio?
I have a CB on my motorcycle with 40 channels, can I set a channel(s) that would be compatable with this unit?

No. The ChatterBox GMRS-X1, FRS-X2, HJC-FRS MultiSport+ communicators are FRS, or FRS/GMRS frequency radio communicators, and they are not compatible with CB frequency radios. GMRS X1 radios can communicate well with other Chatterbox communicators and other FRS or GMRS frequency handheld radio "such as Motorola FRS handheld radios" in the U.S. market.

Is this for radio(music) purposes or just comm between riders?

It would be both. It has an audio input with full stereo sound and has 14 channels for communication with another rider. Of course the other rider would have to have a unit as well.

You get the basic unit and a headset for a full face helmet. If you want to communicate with your passenger you would want a second headset.
