A friend recommended the Chatterbox for communication while 4 wheeling. After researching the options we went with the noise reduction version, and the extra money was well worth it. It takes a little while to get it set right, if your sensitivity is set to high, you get a lot of open mic static, and if to low you have to almost yell to activate the voice activation aspect. But after a little trial and error, we got it down pat. We also purchased the extensions, so the units would fit in our pockets, instead of mounting to the helmet. Having it on the helmet is awkward and bulky, and it is not protected from the tree branches and mud and so forth.

I would like to know if this intercom can be used to talk to a passenger, do I have to buy anything else?

Yes, this unit does have a intercom feature. You would want to buy a second X1/X2 headset for the passenger.
