Good but not great

We justed finshed using this setup on a 2,200 mile circumnavigation of texas. Being wireless was really helpful. Individual volume controls were also very helpful. We found it worked best in town when hunting for roads or places to eat or hotels, etc. It was difficult to use on the open road because windnoise was brutal. Their info says that it has noise cancellation, but if it does, ours wasn't working. We justed left it off once we got up to speed. Also the fact that you have to reach up to turn it on versus being voice activated made it difficult at times. I didn't always think it prudent to take a hand of the bars just to turn on the comm. The velcro that came in the package was useless. We bought our own velcro and it had a lot better glue. Overall, however, wireless is wonderful, sound quality was good (except for windnoise), it was easy to use with gloves on, and it was very easy to communicate with helmets on. I'd give it a 5 except for the windnoise. Did I mention windnoise was a problem?

Great price

But it won't work w/a different chatterbox like the GMRS X1/the Bluetooth u need to get 2 of the XBI1 or match it w/ the XBI2.

I dont ride without it.

I love this product. I installed this into my Gmax 68 in almost no time. The speakers have great volume, not too loud but not soft. I can still hear my music going 70+ with my MGP Exhaust. Just make sure the volume is all the way up on your phone and mp3 player and youll be set. The unit mountes on the side of your helmet really doesnt affect any airflow and it doesnt add any weight to the helmet at all. Buy it and you wont regret it.

A: I don't think you could mount the ear piece with a half shell helmet. this mounts in the ear foam within the helmet.

Q: Is it water "PROOF"?

a lot of these headsets claim to be water proof but i recently had one break after riding in a heavy storm. another question, can you buy replacement batteries for these without replacing the whole unit? i had the scala ryder and they told me that they wouldn't warranty it, after they claimed that it was water proof.
