Great spokes, solid easy to install, required opening holes, but was not a problem. Need 7mm wrench to tighten them. No more loosening problems. Get them you won't be sorry.

Awesome spokes

I have never changed out spokes before, so i did some research on it and found that buchanan spokes were the tuffest on the market and priced better than the Exel which is what my rims are. So i bought these and took my time with tightening and it came out almost perfect, only had to straighten the wheel a tiny bit. Great product, and i will be buying these for my front wheel soon. Big thanks to Motosport and Buchanan.

Best Spokes Ever!

These spokes ROCK!! Have rode with them in for a couple months and still havent had to tighten them. I did have to drill out my hub a little fofr these to fit but no big deal. If you want to buy your last set of spokes these are it!

Great Product

Buchanan makes the best spokes for the money. Has for a long time. If you are purchasing these for a Honda CRF you will most likely need to drill out the holes in the hub. Not that big of a deal but just be prepared.

Beefy Spokes

Great buy, I compared prices with other options and the Buchanans were ball park. Had to drill out the hub which was not a problem at the shop I had lace my wheel. These spokes look awesome.

Buchanan Spokes

Amazing quality, had to drill the hubs, but that was easy. Installation was then a breeze, just replace two at a time and all that truing mess goes away. The best part, no more constantly loose spokes!

Q: 2007 Crf250R?

So i am a young racer who beats the living crud out of his stock spokes and doesn't have the money to buy entire aftermarket wheel sets. So im lookin for a heavy duty spoke set to throw on my stock rims. I hear you gotta drill out the hubs on these bucannans, are they worth it? or do i just go a different brand thats not as heavy duty but a little pricier? (Which doesn't make any sense) also i ve never changed out my spokes or tires by myself, is that do able or would i be better off just runnin them over to the dealer to have them laced, trued and have the new tires installed. I ask because i know the tools for the job and i don't have a lot of them at my house

A: The buchanan spokes are super solid and as far as the drilling goes, it's pretty simple. Your basically just matching up a drill bit to the same size hole in your hub and making a quick pass through just to kind of clean them out make them a hair larger. If you've never laced up a wheel before I would have a shop do it. It's pretty easy to miss lace the wheel and you want to make sure it trued correctly.
Q: Can these fit excel rims?

A: Typically Excel Rims require the matching Excel spokes. Buchanan's only fit the stock OEM hub and rim. If you have stock OEM Excel rims and not the aftermarket Excel rims then these will fit.
Q: Stainless?

Are these spokes and nipples both stainless?

A: Correct, these are stainless steel spoke and nipples.
Q: Stock EXCEL vs aftermarket?
Ok the previous post says they fit OEM Excel's but not aftermarket excels... what is the difference please as that doesn't make much sense. I have Excel takasago rims. they did not come with my CRF.. but they are still EXCELS....

A: Excel rims that come on the bike take a standard spoke nipple. Aftermarket excel rims use a larger diameter nipple and you must use excel spokes.

Q: Are buchanan spokes the same diameter ase oem, or are they larger?

A: the Buchanan spokes are larger in diameter than the stock OEM one's. Jim buchanan has been making spoke longer than most can remember. He designed them to be tougher and stronger than stock, but in order to use these, you will have to drill the rims and possibly hub out to accept the larger spoke. This process is not as scary as it may seem, what typically some one does is find a drill bit that is the same size as the wholes in the rim and hub, and then go 1 size up from that. So it's not a major machining job as some might believe. It's only just a cleaning or honing of the rims and hub.

A: These are to laced with OEM rims. These will not mount with aftermarket EXCEL Rims. Stock (OEM) Excels are fine. They are a different series rim than aftermarket Excel'.
