Not Sure Yet!!!

All,

These tires were installed couple of weeks back. I have not been able to ride much since, they have about 25 to 30 miles on them. They installed perfectly, they balanced like a dream (not much weight needed). They are still "slippery" because so new. My rating posted is honestly very arbitrary, but the tire feel good. I have confidence that they will be even better once "broken-in". If I have the option of follow up review, I will do so. The tires look very nice on the bike, though!!! I really like the tread pattern, very sexy!!

S21 track days/ first impressions

When I first received the tire and tried to have them mounted, the tire bead ended up being so tight it bended my wheel along with ripping the tire bead and tire. I cannot stress enough how good the customer service is at Motosport. I called these guys, explained what happened and they sent me a brand new rear tire. So bringing the tires and new wheels to a different shop. He also said that the tire bead is stiffer than normal.

Okay now to the performance: So I bought these tires to start track days as my old tires wouldn't pass tech. First lap out I noticed that these tires felt great. They gave me great feedback on the ground surface. As the day went on I never felt like these tires would let go. They didn't show much wear after the whole day. (did 6 20 min sessions) These also didn't melt like my buddies Q3's were but that could be different things as well. I think these tires will suit anyone that's looking to do some sport riding. Not sure how they will do with mileage.

I posted one of my sessions on youtube as well. Title is : Nola Track Day 4/15/17

Nice Tire

I haven't been on the track with them or caught in the rain yet, but they perform well on the street. They warm up faster and stick better than the original S20's it came with, and steering is better than my last pair of Metzeler M3's.

S21-decent tire for the money

Several of my friends were running these while a few of us ran Q3's. I decided to give them a try as they are a bit less expensive than the Q3's, and my buddies were getting decent mileage. Overall, they are not a bad tire. Initially they were scary as the turn in grip was suspect but after they wore in, they were comparable to the Q3's, but never quite as confidence inspiring as the Q3's. At full lean after they are broken in they are stable, but you can feel that they are harder than the Q3's, which explains the extended life over the Q3's. I got about 1700 miles out my first set of S21's and I have another set in the garage ready to go. However, given the opportunity to swap out the new S21's I have for a new set of Q3's I would go that route for one large reason: When the S21's go, meaning that when they are done, out of grip, kaput, finished, worn out you get ZERO warning. Your tires are just all of a sudden history. This is not the case with the Q3's. When Q3's go, there is a gradual decrease in grip that you can feel. When the S21's go, they go nearly instantly, which can lead to mid-corner chaos....

If I run the other set I have, I will do so in summer, and only run them 1500 miles. I ran my current set throughout December and January on California's Central coast where I live. Roads here can get a little dirty and the temp drops to the high 20's/low 30's in the early morning for much of that time, so we ride starting about 11:00 am each weekend. Ambient temp is usually in the high 40's to 50's at that time. Not freezing, but not smoking hot either. Currently testing out a set of Pilot Power 3's and so far think I should just stick with the Q3's. Tires differ greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer, so while some people love the S21's, I prefer Q3's. It just depends on your style, how you like your feedback/input from the tires, suspension settings, etc.

Bottom line: They are decent tires but be mindful when they get to the 1500 mile mark if you ride really hard. I pushed these to the absolute edge of the tire and the edge of traction. Better for warmer weather than colder weather.
Just for total disclosure so you can get the most from this review, I ride an 09 R1 with 08 forks running Ohlins 25mm cartridges (08's had stiffer outer tubes) and an Ohlins TTX GP shock. I weigh 285 with my gear.

Good Tires

Been running these on my street bike (BMW S1000R). 3-4 track days and some road/canyon/mountain riding. Good grip. Warns up quick. Good for intermediate track day pace. Gotten it to the edge a lot and knee dragging and it is solid. Turn in seems a little slower then a Dunlop Q3, but very neutral at the limit. I am happy with this as a cheap street/track day tire. Grip is probably as good as my race tires were 10-15 years ago. I only get 1000 miles or so out of the rear, but my track is very abrasive.

S21 combo

bset tires so far both for sport touring and track days. stuck like q2's but will make twice the mileage. 2500 miles wear out q2s but s21s already have 3k and are 50% worn with one track day at autobahn. intermediate class on my stock fz07. power 3s chattered ft and rear at blackhawk and gingerman and very harsh ride on street so i gave them away with 2k on them... p/poor tires from michelin! i ride hard on the twistys in wisconsin and love the s21s

Great tire buy.

Apparently an upgrade from the S20 tires I had on my bike. These are very similar in appearance. Quick to warm up, stable yet with very quick turn-in. I like these tires. Installed myself and used Dyna Beads to balance.

Great tire for street and track

Another winner from Bridgestone. Fantastic carcass communication and feedback. Supremely sticky rubber that gets up to temp quickly and holds it well enough to not lose performance even at a spirited street pace. Major thumbs up for the next evolution of the S20 line.

S21's are great.

I purchased these tires for my 2015 R1M. After a few hundred miles I think they are great tires for aggressive street riding. I have not had any issues with them and they grip great.

It's on my stunt bike

It's on my stunt bike so I don't go to hard in the corners with this tire. It it seems pretty good. I have used up all available tread though and I haven't gotten a knee down or anything but they seem to wear great. Really noisey when you slide it!
