2013 AMA ProGoPro Daytona SportBike Daytona 200 Recap

Congratulations to Bobby Fong who fought tough in the 72nd Running of the Daytona 200 and placed third - his best ever finish at Daytona. Fong, his first race with the RMR/Triple Crown team, rode his MotoSport.com Yamaha YZF-R6 in second place for a portion of the race before Garrett Gerloff passed him. Cameron Beaubier took first in the 57-lap, 200-mile race.

Fong said he made a mistake at the start and lost Beaubier's draft forcing him to ride by himself the rest of the way and maintain his position. Fong's best lap was a tick over a minute fifty one and he finished 38.143 seconds behind the winner. He is third in the overall standings with 21 points.

"The bike was hitting false neutrals and I let Cameron get away," Fong said. "It was a long race but the training I did this off-season paid off."

Fong also placed third in the AMA Pro Vance & Hines Harley Davidson series.
