I have never used any sort of fork support system. After blowing out one of my seals I decided to look into something. I went with this one. It works great and allows the forks to compress just enough to easily secure the bike down without over compression of the forks. It only allows the forks to move about 2 inches or so. This saves pressure on your entire front suspension.
Works great. Used it today. Need to trim a bit off the top with a hacksaw because it is too long. After the trim, works great. Also, I did not realize these are plastic, not metal, so they are very light.
I bought one of these to give it a try. I dont use it because i dont get the straps tight enough to keep the thing locked in. If i was hauling the bike on a trailer or sitting straight in the bed (not diagonally like i usually load it), I could see the propose of using this. Good for being able to put more pressure on the straps without compressing the suspension.
Very simple and straight forward. Does what is it supposed to.
Works as Designed and fits a good variety of bikes! Keeps the bike from kicking out of tension in the bumps when loaded. Only downside is that it is a fixed length. Adjustable fork supports would limit the suspension compression even further.
